Coronation Street's Sam Aston skates into Dancing on Ice semi-final
Rawtenstall actor, Sam Aston, has skated his way into the Dancing on Ice semi-finals. The Coronation Street actor impressed judges, securing his highest score on the ITV competition so far. Sam and his partner Molly Lanaghan danced to I'd Do Anything, from Oliver! On the show, Sam said: 'I am playing the Artful Dodger. He is a cheeky chappy and always up to no good. 'I can relate to the Artful Dodger. I am the youngest of nine and we got up to all sorts of mischief, including putting ham in our socks to try and train the cat to claw peoples' ankles. 'It's a great one to get into character with but I am also going to really concentrate on the steps as well.' After being given a score of 37 and placing third on the leaderboard, Sam said: 'Honestly it was so much fun. I have enjoyed this week the most. "Going into it I wasn't sure about musicals but I had an absolute blast.' The Traitors star Mollie Pearce left the competition on Sunday night (February 24). Sam will perform again on Sunday, in the semi-finals of the show. Anton Ferdinand, Dan Edgar, and Michaela Strachan are also in the running for the Dancing on Ice trophy.
