Two men in court after alleged firebomb attack on Edinburgh taxi firm

Sonny Dovesi, 25, and Ray Dudgeon, 26, were in the dock in Edinburgh Sheriff Court today. Two men have appeared in court charged in connection with an alleged firebomb attack on an Edinburgh cab company. Sonny Dovesi, 25, and Ray Dudgeon, 26, were in the dock in Edinburgh Sheriff Court today. The pair were arrested and charged after taxi firm Capital Cars was allegedly torched in the early hours of Monday morning. Dovesi, from Edinburgh, and Dudgeon, of Stirling, face charges of wilful fireraising and attempted murder and attempted wilful fireraising. Dovesi faces further charges of breaking the road traffic act and misuse of drugs act. They made no plea and were remanded in custody. They are set to appear back in the dock in the next eight days. Fears were raised yesterday that the firebomb attack could be linked to the ongoing gang war in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Police Scotland said that one line of enquiry was the Operation Portaledge probe that was launched into the terrifying turf war. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community!
