Mosul Airport revival: Cutting-edge radar operational

Shafaq News/ On Tuesday, Iraq's Ministry of Transport completed the installation of a new radar system at Mosul International Airport. The system, developed by French company Thales, includes advanced tracking features and integrated cybersecurity protections to enhance surveillance and air traffic monitoring in northern Iraq. Mosul International Airport, heavily damaged during the war against ISIS, is being rebuilt as part of national infrastructure recovery efforts, and is expected to begin operations by June. According to the Transportation Ministry's media office, the project was implemented under the supervision of Minister Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi, adding to similar systems already deployed at other airports nationwide.

MOT: Preparations are completed for the airlift of Iraqi pilgrims

INA – BAGHDAD The Ministry of Transport announced on Friday the completion of its preparations for the airlift of Iraqi pilgrims, setting May 8th as the date for the launch of the first flight. "Minister of Transport Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi directed Iraqi Airways to fully adhere to the approved operational plan, ensuring the provision of the best services to the Guests of the Merciful," said a statement by the Ministry – received by the Iraqi News Agency – INA. Al-Saadawi stressed "the importance of high coordination between the various technical and administrative staff and relevant institutions to achieve the highest levels of smoothness and accuracy in departure and arrival times." The statement added that "the Iraqi Airways Company has set the date for the launch of the first flights for the airlift of Iraqi pilgrims to the Holy Lands, starting May 8th, with five flights per day," indicating that "the airlift operation will continue until the 28th of the same month." 'The latest wide-body aircraft, including the 787 Dreamliner, Boeing 737, and Airbus A330, equipped to the highest international specifications, have been provided, in addition to providing specialized flight crews and comprehensive hospitality services to ensure the comfort and safety of pilgrims," included in the stadium.

Minister of Transport Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi confirmed on Tuesday that international companies are interested in participating in the Development Road, Al-Faw Port, and the railway link projects. Al-Saadawi met with his Spanish counterpart, Oscar Puente, in the Spanish capital, Madrid, to discuss joint cooperation between the two countries in the transportation sector, said the Ministry of Transport in a statement - received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA. He emphasized that "the Iraqi transportation environment offers promising investment opportunities, and there are Spanish companies that have begun implementing important and strategic projects in Iraq." During the meeting, the Minister reviewed the Ministry's projects, some of which include the rehabilitation of old railways and the construction of new railway lines related to the Development Road Project. "Several specialized international companies have expressed their desire to participate in the Development Road projects, the Grand Faw Port, and the railway link between the governorates, and others. Negotiations are underway in this regard, governed by Iraq's national interest," he added.
