No matter the wordplay, the fact is that Paramount+'s MobLand broke a record as the streamer's largest global series launch ever, amassing 2.2 million global viewers on premiere day (March 30).
MobLand thus joins 1923 and Landman as the Top 3 launches in Paramount+ history.
Executive-produced by Guy Ritchie, created and written by Ronan Bennett and written by Jez Butterworth, MobLand stars Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren in a story about two mob families who clash in a war that threatens to topple empires and lives.
The series' cast also includes Paddy Considine (House Of The Dragon), Joanne Froggatt (Downton Abbey), Lara Pulver (Da Vinci's Demons), Anson Boon (Pistol), Mandeep Dhillon (CSI: Vegas), Jasmine Jobson (Top Boy), Geoff Bell (Top Boy), Daniel Betts (Fate: The Winx Saga), Lisa Dwan (Blackshore), Emily Barber (Industry) and Helen Mirren (The Queen).
'MobLand is a runaway success thanks to the visionary work of Guy, Jez, Ronan and David Glasser and brought to life by the exceptional Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren who transport us into a world audiences clearly cannot get enough of,' Paramount Co-CEO Chris McCarthy said in a statement. 'MobLand is yet another proof point for the power of our differentiated model – fewer, bigger, breakthrough series that can cut through the clutter and also builds on our 2024 record success where we finished as the No. 2 SVOD for Original Series time spent viewing.'
