Imran being kept in 'poor conditions': son
Kasim Khan, son of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has said that his father was in "really poor conditions" in Adiala jail in Rawalpindi and that he and his brother, Sulaiman Khan, were looking for a possible way out. In an interview on US media outlet Real America's Voice shared on Wednesday, Khan said that his father was incarcerated in a solitary confinement cell and allowed only two hours a day to spend time in daylight. He further said that they were unable to speak to their father. Imran has been imprisoned since August 2023. Currently he is serving a sentence at the Adiala Jail in a £190 million corruption case. Besides he faces pending trials under the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) related to the protests of May 9, 2023. "Right now he's in really, really poor conditions and it looks like they're getting worse and worse by the moment. So we're looking for any way out possible," Kasim said. He "is incarcerated in a solitary confinement cell," he added. "The state of the cell he's in is awful, quite frankly." He continued, alleging that Imran was showering in muddy water and 10 people who were incarcerated there had died from filthy conditions. "There were moments he went 10 days without any light in his cell". He termed it a "torture tactic". "We're not able to speak to him at all," he said, expressing his worry over not being able to see his father. Kasim Khan said that he and his brother were "looking to America at the moment" for support. "It seems like it might be the only route out at the moment." He said that during a meeting in the US, US President Donald Trump's key aide Richard Grenell was "very kind to spend some time with us." He added: "We spoke at length and I don't want to get into details but I'm very, very hopeful from that."

Donald Trump's radio blunder: President appears to admit his name is in Epstein files
The US President, who has been at the centre of controversy surrounding the Epstein files, appeared to admit his name is mentioned in the contentious documents but insisted it was 'faked' by the Democrats Donald Trump appears to have acknowledged his presence in the Epstein Files, as the furore over their handling continues to rage. During a phone-in with "Just the News" on Real America's Voice, the US President alleged that Democrats had concocted information and slipped his name into papers linked to the disgraced Jeffrey Epstein whilst they were in office, reports ABC. Trump's comments came after being quizzed about whether he wanted prosecutors to probe claims of political witch-hunts. This comes after the Wall Street Journal reported on what was described as a "creepy" birthday card allegedly sent from Trump to Epstein. He declared: "Well, I think it's in the case of Epstein, they've already looked at it, and they are looking at it, and I think all they have to do is put out anything credible." Trump went on to voice his doubts: "But you know, that was run by the Biden administration for four years. I can imagine what they put into files, just like they did with the others. I mean, the Steele dossier was a total fake, right? It took two years to figure that out for the people, and all of the things that you mentioned were fake.", reports the Mirror US, reports the Express. He continued: "So I would imagine if they were run by Chris Wray and they were run by Comey, and because it was actually even before that administration, they've been running these files, and so much of the things that we found were fake with me." Trump appears to acknowledge his name was in the Epstein files, but he maintained Democrats fabricated it. Despite his claims that they "put" things in the files, numerous documents referencing Trump have long been publicly available. Bowing to pressure from certain wings within his Republican Party, his team on Friday petitioned a federal court to unveil sealed records concerning Jeffrey Epstein's case, hoping to calm a political firestorm. Nevertheless, even with the potential disclosure of these records, it remains questionable whether this will appease those furious over apparent lack of openness regarding the evidence against the wealthy financier. The administration continues to face criticism for not releasing additional records it possesses. House Republicans are set to vote next week on a resolution crafted to address GOP demands for greater transparency on the Epstein affair. The resolution calls upon the Justice Department to make records public, though it carries no legal force. "The House Republicans are for transparency, and they're looking for a way to say that they agree with the White House," announced House Speaker Mike Johnson on Thursday. "We agree with the president. Everything he said about that, all the credible evidence should come out." The Democrats, supported by nine Republicans, have advanced their own bill that would compel the Justice Department to reveal more details about the case.

Trump claims Epstein files are faked, but many documents have been public for years
Despite recent claims by President Donald Trump that former Biden officials doctored files related to Jeffrey Epstein, many of the documents -- including those mentioning Trump and several prominent Democrats -- have been public for years. The president, in a phone interview on conservative network Real America's Voice on Wednesday, alleged without providing evidence that Democrats and former officials doctored files relating to the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender. "But you know, that was run by the Biden administration for four years. I can imagine what they put into files, just like they did with the others," Trump said. "I mean, the Steele dossier was a total fake, right? It took two years to figure that out for the people, and all of the things that you mentioned were fake." The civil defamation lawsuit that is the primary basis of speculative theories about Epstein's "client list" was filed by accuser Virginia Giuffre against Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell in 2015, and was settled in 2017. A substantial portion of the record of the defamation case was sealed during the litigation for the purpose of protecting the privacy of third parties who were named in the papers and depositions but were not directly involved in the case or who were facing untested allegations of wrongdoing. The Miami Herald intervened in the settled lawsuit in 2018 to unseal records. Unsealing began on Aug. 9, 2019, the day prior to Epstein's death by suicide in a Manhattan jail and continued in stages for the next 4.5 years. The final release of documents was in early 2024. No substantive new filings were filed in the case after May 2017, other than motions related to unsealing the record. Other files that mention Trump, including some flight logs from Epstein's pilot and Epstein's address book, which had multiple numbers for Trump and other members of his family, have been public for much longer than that. Some date back to civil litigation against Epstein following his first arrest in 2006. Trump's name was also included on additional flight logs of Epstein's planes that were made public in 2021 during Maxwell's criminal trial. None of the documents made public as part of those civil lawsuits or Maxwell's trial contain allegations of wrongdoing by Trump. The names of several prominent Democrats, including former President Bill Clinton, also appear in the already-public files in various contexts. Clinton was not accused of any wrongdoing and has said through spokespersons that he had no knowledge of Epstein's crimes. Others mentioned in the files have also denied wrongdoing. Much like now, there was rampant speculation in advance of the unsealing of records from that case that these documents were finally going to reveal the so-called client list. What it revealed was Giuffre alleging that Epstein and Maxwell abused her and sent her to be abused by several prominent men. The records also showed Maxwell and all the accused men denying the allegations. Because that case was settled, none of it was ever tested at trial. Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for sex trafficking and other offenses in connection with Epstein. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on Thursday defended the administration's handling of the Epstein files, continually directing questions about any further action on the Epstein case to the Department of Justice, claiming Trump didn't have knowledge or an understanding of what hasn't been released yet.
