Trezeguet returns to Al Ahly after 10 years

Ammon News - The flagship of Egyptian football has brought a star player back home. Al Ahly has announced the signing of Mohamed Trezeguet, who will don the club's jersey once again after a decade away. The 30-year-old midfielder is a product of the Red Devils' academy and began his professional career right here. During his 3 years with Al Ahly's first team, the Egyptian helped the club win the CAF Champions League twice, along with several other international trophies. Throughout his career, Trezeguet has played for Anderlecht, Aston Villa, Beşiktaş, and several other Turkish clubs. Most recently, the midfielder was with Qatari side Al-Rayyan, where he played since last year. Trezeguet is set to make his return to the Al Ahly lineup as early as June 15, in the opening match of the FIFA Club World Cup against Inter Miami. Daily Sports

Bruno Fernandes enjoys dinner with Al-Hilal ‘secret agent' Joao Cancelo as he faces Man Utd exit decision

FANS reckon Bruno Fernandes is "leaving breadcrumbs" as clues after the Manchester United skipper dined with Al-Hilal "secret agent" Joao Cancelo. Fernandes' agent has already held "productive" talks with the Saudis as they press for a £100million transfer. 6 Bruno Fernandes and Joao Cancelo looked to have a great night Credit: 6 Cancelo received a cake during his birthday week Credit: 6 The Portugal team-mates were in a fun mood Credit: 6 Cancelo shared this pic, suggesting he is happy with life at Al-Hilal And now the Red Devils' star midfielder, 30, has met with Al-Hilal's former Manchester City full-back Cancelo. A clip of the Portugal pals at a group meal in a restaurant, has sent speculation soaring that a deal could be sorted within days. Cancelo was 31 last Tuesday - and a birthday cake with blazing candles was presented to him at the eatery. An X account for Al-Hilal fans shared a video from the meal - and cheekily suggested Cancelo was trying to talk the Red Devils hero into moving. The post read: "Bruno Fernandes with Cancelo today... Can Cancelo do it? " One fan responded: "Yes, it's his Portugal teammate but given all the rumours and all the speculation about his future this can't be a pure coincidence. "Of course they discussed his possible move to Al-Hilal. Bruno is leaving breadcrumbs for us. First the quote yesterday now this." That "quote" is thought to be a mysterious message Fernandes posted on his Instagram story. 6 Fernandes is likely to decide his future over the next few days Credit: PA BEST ONLINE CASINOS - TOP SITES IN THE UK Its English translation was: "If you tried and failed, congratulations! There are people who don't even try." Some fans believe "in the context" of Al-Hilal's interest, those words means Fernandes WILL be leaving Old Trafford. 'Players are not acting in the right manner' - David Beckham slams Man Utd stars' behaviour after fans clashes on tour But nothing is certain yet. And when the dining clip went up on social media, a few observers warned against reading too much into it. One wrote: "Friends go out for dinner together." And another added: "They are international teammates enjoying off season." A third posted: "So this video could mean nothing or it could be everything." And although some viewers pointed out it was Cancelo's birthday week, they also felt it was inevitable a Fernandes transfer was one topic. Such verdicts included: "One can be certain that Bruno considering Al Hilal's offer means talking to all his Portuguese buddies in Saudi to assess opinions on things like the standard of the game, his support system if he goes there etc. "

Man Utd stars 'quizzed on holidays' and face axe if pre-season targets not met

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim is planning an intense pre-season as he looks to turn things around after the Red Devils' worst-ever Premier League campaign Ruben Amorim is set to take a hardline approach with his squad as they look to bounce back from a disappointing season. Manchester United endured their worst-ever Premier League campaign as they finished 15th and they also lost the Europa League final to Tottenham. United are set for a major overhaul this summer as Amorim looks to refresh his squad and the former Sporting boss is also planning an intense pre-season to ensure his players are ready to go when the new season starts. ‌ According to the Sun, non-international players are expected to return to Carrington 'earlier than normal' and some could even be back in training before the end of June. Amorim is said to be demanding 'sky high' fitness levels from his players and that he is ready to axe them if they do not meet his standards. ‌ It is claimed Amorim has even asked his players about their holiday plans, with the Portuguese attempting to leave no stone unturned as he bids to turn things around. The report adds that he wants United to start the season strong as rivals Manchester City and Chelsea could have a 'disrupted' start to their campaign due to the Club World Cup. The final of the revamped tournament takes place on July 13, just one month before the new season starts. A club source is quoted as saying: "Amorim needs a good pre-season. He's not shied away from the pressure he's under. "He would have always preferred to have arrived at United ahead of a new season rather than in the middle of it. He has to get this right. He's told the players there are no more excuses. His job is on the line — and so too is theirs. The club can't accept any more failures." ‌ After United's final game of the season, a 2-0 win over Aston Villa at Old Trafford, Amorim delivered an impassioned speech to supporters where he promised them that "the good days are coming". He said: "I want to apologise for this season. I know you are really disappointed with me and with the team. The second thing I want to say is thank-you. We are very grateful for your support during the season, which I know was really bad. ‌ "It was really hard in many games, but now, for me, we have to make a choice – stay stuck in the past - because this season is in the past, it's over. We fight each other or we stick together and move forward. "Six months ago, in my first three games in charge, with two victories and one draw, I said to you the storm is coming, Today, after this disastrous season, I want to tell you - the good days are coming. "If there is one club in the word that can overcome any situation, any disaster it is our club, Manchester United. I also want to say thank-you to my players. Sometimes I am not fair, but always I try to be honest with you. Thank you very much, see you next season."

David Beckham slams Man Utd stars for actions on Asia tour - 'It's not OK'

Manchester United legend David Beckham has slammed the club's current players for not representing the Red Devils' badge in the correct manner on and off the pitch David Beckham has slammed Manchester United's stars for their actions on and off the pitch. The former England captain and Red Devils icon does not believe the club's badge has been represented in the correct way. Beckham, 50, spent more than a decade at Old Trafford at the start of his career and is unhappy with what has transpired at the club in recent times. And his comments appear to hint towards recent actions that occurred during United's post-season tour of Asia. ‌ Ruben Amorim's side fell to defeat against ASEAN All-Stars in Malaysia before coming back from behind to defeat Hong Kong. And while there were difficulties on the pitch, actions off it did not look harmonious either. ‌ United star Amad showed his middle finger near the club's hotel, albeit only after he was subject to "serious personal abuse" about his mother. A video on social media also saw a fan claim he was pushed by Alejandro Garnacho after the Argentina international was followed and filmed in Kuala Lumpur. Beckham expressed his disappointment with the club's current situation. The co-owner of Inter Miami and Salford City wants to see the side represented in a better way. "It's tough times," Beckham told CBS Sports. "I don't like seeing some of things that are going on at the club. ‌ "On the pitch is what counts but in all honesty I'm seeing a lot of things that are not okay in my eyes as a fan and as a lover of Man United. "You have to represent the badge. That's what it is about. I've seen a lot of things where players are not acting in the right manner." ‌ Seated alongside Tom Cruise, Beckham went on to compare the current squad to the team he played in. The former Real Madrid and AC Milan midfielder emphasised how important it was to respect the club's fans around the world. "We were a part of a team that was so well mannered," he added. "We understood what it meant to play for Manchester United. We understood what the badge meant. "Wherever we travelled, whether it was in Europe or in Asia, we respected the fans. We respected the fact that they were turning up, paying money and wanting you to sign and take pictures. You respect that."

Sir Alex Ferguson arrives at Champions League final with Gary Neville as £2m-a-year Man Utd role comes to an end

The legendary ex-Manchester United boss arrived at Bayern Munich with Gary Neville as PSG bid to finally win the Champions League. So far it's not been the final flourish the Red Devils' most famous ever manager would have liked. He was in Bilbao to see United's 1-0 loss to Tottenham in the Europa League showpiece on May 21. And tat's after he lost his £2million-a-year position at Old Trafford - as part of huge cost-cutting from United's minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe. However, it certainly wasn't personal as Ratcliffe and his company unveiled nearly 500 redundancies in all. Meanwhile, there's also major investment planned for the future - most notably for a new £2billion 100,000-seat stadium. Ferguson's glittering 26 years in charge contrasts with everything that has followed since his managerial retirement in 2013. Fergie guided United to 13 Premier League titles and two Champions League crowns. BEST ONLINE CASINOS - TOP SITES IN THE UK Undoubtedly the peak was the Treble in 1998-99 - three years before fellow club icon Neville arrived. Now the ex-England defender, 50, is a TV pundit - while it's unclear if Fergie will have another direct job in football. At least the duo beat traffic mayhem to arrive at the final in good time. It follows chaos at a Munich station caused by fighting between rival groups of fans.
