Fan Bing Bing Sells Out Over RM862 Million Worth Of Fan Beauty Face Masks

After her tax evasion scandal that left her with a hefty fine and a hiatus, Fan Bing Bing (范冰冰) has started appearing more in public in recent years. With her achievement in the Malaysian Book of Records for boosting Melaka's digital image and a Malaysian movie completing in November, the Chinese actress has risen above and beyond, and she's not stopping anytime soon. It was recently reported that Fan Bing Bing's famous Fan Beauty Diary face mask made over RM862 million in sales last year. During her hiatus, the actress can be seen frequently applying facial masks in photos on her social media, which could be the leverage for the amazing sales as fans and the public strive to achieve her clear complexion. Fan Beauty launched in 2019 with their best-selling product, the Fan Beauty Diary Face Masks. Since its launch, the product has garnered impressive sales over the years. In a recent promotional shoot involving an amateur photographer and the 43-year-old actress, the brand sold over 200,00 units of face masks alone in less than 72 hours, marking Fan Bing Bing's entrepreneurial prowess, leveraging on her popularity with active promotions. Other than her business prospects, Fan Bing Bing is also set to return to the big screen in the Malaysian film 'Mother Bhumi', speculated to premiere late this year. 'We have closely followed Chong [Keat Aun]'s cinematic evolution since his critically-acclaimed debut. We're also utterly captivated by Fan Bingbing's career-redefining performance through daring characterisation in this film,' said Meng Xie, CEO of film distribution company Rediance. As we follow along Fan Bing Bing's journey, moving past her scandals, we believe that this actress has a lot more coming than we know! Fan Bingbing Starrer ‘Mother Bhumi' Nabbed by Rediance Ahead of Cannes Market (EXCLUSIVE)

Beijing-based sales outfit Rediance has acquired worldwide rights to 'Mother Bhumi,' the Fan Bingbing-starring drama from acclaimed Malaysian filmmaker Chong Keat Aun. When confronted with revelations about her husband's death, she struggles to maintain equilibrium while seeking resolution for herself and her children. The cast also includes Taiwan's Bai Run-yin (Golden Horse winner 'Old Fox') and Hong Kong's Natalie Hsu ('Suk Mung') as Hong Im's son and daughter, respectively. Chong has established himself as a rising voice in Malaysian cinema. His debut 'The Story of Southern Islet' (2020) earned him Best New Director honors at the Golden Horse Awards and a Fipresci prize at Hong Kong International Film Festival. His follow-up, 'Snow in Midsummer' (2023), premiered at Venice and took home the Firebird Award at Hong Kong, while his most recent work 'Pavane for an Infant' bowed at Tokyo International Film Festival last year. 'We have closely followed Chong's cinematic evolution since his critically-acclaimed debut. We're also utterly captivated by Fan Bingbing's career-redefining performance through daring characterization in this film,' said Meng Xie, CEO of Rediance. 'We anticipate sharing this masterful work with global cinephiles and industry partners alike.' Fan's past credits include 'Lost in Beijing,' 'Buddha Mountain' and 'I Am Not Madame Bovary.' While Fan remains one of China's most recognizable stars, 'Mother Bhumi' sees her undergoing a physical transformation for the role. 'There is no such thing as a good or bad looking character in a movie. Even during the filming, some of my friends would not recognize me when they came to visit me,' she revealed during a press conference last year. 'I think this shows how committed the whole production team was in helping me transform into Mother Bhumi.' The film is produced by Malaysia's Janji Pictures Production and Southern Islet Pictures alongside Italy's Volos Films Italia. Producers include Wong Kew Soon ('Snow in Midsummer'), Stefano Centini ('Heads or Tails,' 'Magellan') and Zoey Teng ('Pavane for an Infant'). Walter Fasano, known for his editing work on 'Call Me by Your Name,' serves as editing consultant. At Cannes, Rediance's slate also includes Critics' Week documentary 'Imago' by Déni Oumar Pitsaev and 'Lili' by Zhaoguang Luo and Shuhan Liao in the Short Films Competition. Chechen Documentary ‘Imago' Debuts Clip Ahead of Cannes Premiere, Rediance Handles Sales (EXCLUSIVE)

An exclusive clip of Chechen documentary 'Imago,' directed by Déni Oumar Pitsaev, is being debuted by Variety. The film, which is sold worldwide by Rediance and will be released by New Story in France, has its world premiere in Critics' Week at the Cannes Film Festival. Oumar Pitsaev, an exiled Chechen filmmaker, returns to Pankissi, a Georgian valley at the foot of the Caucasus, inhabited by descendants of his Chechen clan. When he inherits a small patch of land in the valley, he sees a chance to finally build the house in the trees that he's dreamed of since he was a boy. Returning to a village just across the Chechen border where he was born – a place he barely knows – he stirs up old feuds, buried family dramas, and above all, the question everyone keeps asking: when, and with whom, is he finally going to get married? In a statement, the director said: 'When my cousin invited me to spend a summer in Pankissi, I knew I would have to confront everything I had spent years running from: the pressure of tradition, the demands of family, the weight of religion, and the silence around identity. 'This film is both a return and a reckoning — with my Chechen roots, my fractured family, and my own internal exiles. I navigate the tension between belonging and freedom, between the home I fled and the one I might one day build. ' 'Imago' is a story of metamorphosis—of what it means to grow, to forgive, and to imagine a future that honors the past without being bound by it.' The film is produced by Triptyque Films in France and co-produced by Need Productions in Belgium, Arte Cinema and RTBF. It has been supported by the Sundance Institute, ASR and Eurimages, and was part of a number of pitching forums, notably Hot Docs, Toronto, Sheffield and Locarno.
