Thieves haul wheelie bins packed with stolen clothing through Nottingham
Two men, Ellis Bishop and Reece Wheat, stole thousands of pounds worth of clothes from Footlocker in Nottingham city centre on 13 May. CCTV footage released by Nottinghamshire Police showed the pair using wheelie bins to transport the stolen items. Wheat was later identified by a store worker who recognised him wearing missing Nike clothing. Both men pleaded guilty to charges of burglary and theft; Wheat received a nine-month custodial sentence, and Bishop was sentenced to 26 weeks in prison. Watch the video in full above.

A pair of thieves hauled wheelie bins stuffed with thousands of pounds of clothes through Nottingham city centre. CCTV shared by Nottinghamshire Police on Thursday (3 July) shows Ellis Bishop, 31, of Bath Street in St Ann's, and Reece Wheat, 28, of no fixed address, outside Footlocker filling two bins with stolen goods on 13 May. Wheat was later spotted after a store worker noticed him wearing Nike clothing that matched missing items. He previously pleaded guilty to two counts of burglary, two counts of theft and using threatening words with intent to cause fear of violence and was given a nine-month custodial sentence. Bishop pleaded guilty to one count of burglary and four counts of theft and was sentenced to 26 weeks in prison.

Moment thief disguised as Foot Locker worker drags wheelie bin packed with £3,000 of stolen clothes and trainers away
This is the moment a brazen thief posing as a Foot Locker employee hauls a wheelie bin packed with £3,000 worth of stolen trainers after raiding the sportswear store. Reece Wheat, 28, disguised himself in the firm's distinctive black and white striped uniform before he rushed away with thousands of pounds worth of goods. He was aided, by accomplice, Ellis Bishop, 30, who helped him break in and haul away the stolen loot on Clumber Street in Nottingham on May 13, this year. Shocking CCTV cameras caught the shameless duo pushing the stolen items along the street packed in two wheelie bins, which had been nabbed from a nearby bar. The hooded crook was also captured helping Wheat to break in before bundling the stolen items into the wheelie bins waiting outside. Later that day, Wheat was arrested after being spotted near the Footlocker store boldly wearing some of pinched Nike clothing. It was later found that the serial thief had also broken into a bike shed in Station Street, and had also shoplifted £30 worth of washing capsules from Savers. Now Wheat has been jailed for nine months, while Bishop was given a 26-week prison sentence after pleading guilty at Nottingham Magistrates' Court. Detectives found the accomplice was also responsible for three other shop thefts in the city centre on May, 27 June 15 and June 20. Bishop of Nottingham, was charged with burglary and four counts of shop theft, including the theft of the bins. PC Ben King, of Nottinghamshire Police's city centre neighbourhood policing team, said: 'Thousands of pounds worth of stock was stolen during this break-in, before being paraded through the city centre in a pair of wheelie bins. 'Ellis Bishop played a leading role in this brazen burglary by taking the bins from a neighbouring shop and then helping Reece Wheat fill them with stolen trainers and clothes. 'Unlike his accomplice, he didn't leave forensic evidence at the scene, so identifying him was a bit trickier. 'After extensively reviewing the footage available, however, we were able to link him to his offending by the tattoos he had on show and the trainers on his feet. 'Retail crime can have a real impact on businesses and the staff that work there, so we're pleased to have now locked up both the people responsible for this burglary.'

Thief dragged wheelie bin filled with stolen clothes through city centre
An accomplice in a robbery which saw two men drag wheelie bins stuffed with thousands of pounds of stolen clothes through Nottingham city centre has been identified. The two individuals stole tonnes of stock - including expensive trainers and clothes - from Footlocker, in Clumber Street, in the early hours of May 13. They then hid the items in two wheelie bins and dragged them through the streets of Nottingham city centre. CCTV had previously identified Reece Wheat as one of the suspects, however another man was captured helping him break into the store and stuff the items into the bins. The 30-year-old was later found to be responsible for a further three shop thefts on May 27, June 15 and June 20 and was subsequently charged with burglary and four counts of shop theft. This included the theft of the bins. Bishop, of Bath Street, St Ann's, admitted to each charge at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Monday (30 June) and was sentenced to 26 weeks in prison. PC Ben King, of the City Centre neighbourhood policing team, said: "Thousands of pounds worth of stock was stolen during this break-in, before being paraded through the city centre in a pair of wheelie bins. Brazen thief uses wheelie bins to carry out £3,000 Footlocker raid
This is the moment a thief used wheelie bins to steal £3,000 worth of Footlocker items after breaking into a store in Nottingham in the early hours of 13 May. CCTV inquiries found 28-year-old Reece Wheat, of no fixed address, was responsible for the burglary and that he'd gained access by removing window bars and climbing into a toilet area within the premises. The bins, stolen from a nearby bar, were used to transport the items. Once inside, he changed into staff uniform in an apparent effort to thwart a police investigation. Wheat also stole almost £30 worth of washing capsules from Savers, in Exchange Street, on 27 April. He pleaded guilty to two counts of burglary, two counts of theft and using threatening words with intent to cause fear of violence and was jailed for nine months on Monday (26 May).
