Sharjah Women's Sports dominate taekwondo team championships
On the first day of the event, the junior team from the Sharjah Women's Sports Club excelled, with standout performances from athletes like Reem Yousef Hamid and Fatima Mohammed Obaid. They worked together seamlessly and earned the gold medal, finishing in first place.
In the women's category, the same club shined again, winning the silver medal after a tightly contested event that kept everyone on the edge of their seats. The team included Ann Rose, Rayan Najib Al Zaabi, and several others who fought hard until the end.
The Kalba Women's Sports Club also showed great talent, with their junior team securing a bronze medal thanks to players like Hawar Ali Al Zeyoudi and Reem Khalfan Al Naqbi, who displayed strong teamwork and spirit. The Kalba ladies' team achieved similar success, also winning a bronze medal with the efforts of players like Ruqayya Rashid Al Dhanhani and Sheikha Mohammed Al Tunaiji, showcasing their skills in a competitive atmosphere.
The following day, during the UAE Team Cup Championship, the Sharjah Women's Sports Club women's team continued to impress, taking home another gold medal. Players such as Maysoun Ihab Farouk and Yasmine Yasser Al Kindi performed exceptionally well, securing first place with a strong and balanced show of teamwork.
At the end of the season, Abdullah Hatem, the Taekwondo Technical Director at the Sharjah Women's Sports Foundation, praised the teams' collective efforts. He noted their commitment and improvement in both skills and teamwork throughout the season. He expressed excitement about building on these successes as they prepare for the next season, aiming for even greater achievements in future competitions.
Balqis Al Shehhi, who oversees individual sports at the Sharjah Women's Sports Club, shared her pride in the athletes' accomplishments. She highlighted the importance of the teamwork among the athletes, coaches, and administrative staff, and acknowledged the ongoing support from the Sharjah Women's Sports Foundation. This support helps create the best environment for taekwondo and motivates the clubs to continue raising their standards in the seasons ahead.
