Gachiakuta: Everything you need to know about the anime

By Aman Shukla Published on July 7, 2025, 17:30 IST Last updated July 7, 2025, 10:44 IST Yo, anime fans! If you're hunting for your next obsession, Gachiakuta might just steal your heart—and your sleep schedule. This dark fantasy shonen, based on Kei Urana's manga, hit screens on July 6, 2025, and it's already making waves with its raw energy, dystopian vibes, and a world where trash isn't just garbage—it's power. Here's the lowdown on everything you need to know about Gachiakuta to jump in headfirst. What Is Gachiakuta About? Gachiakuta follows Rudo Surebrec, a young boy living in the slums of a floating city called the Sphere. In this divided society, the wealthy live in luxury, casting their trash—and sometimes people—into a massive dump site known as 'The Pit.' Rudo, an orphan raised by his foster father Regto, despises the upper class's wastefulness and often scavenges through garbage to find valuable items. His life takes a drastic turn when he's falsely accused of murdering Regto and is exiled to The Pit. Instead of biting the dust, Rudo lands in a wild, dangerous world crawling with Trash Beasts—monsters born from the junk people throw away. He's rescued by the Cleaners, a ragtag crew who fight these creatures, and discovers his own power through a pair of gloves called 3R. These bad boys let him bring objects to life, turning random junk into weapons or tools. From there, it's a rollercoaster of survival, revenge, and uncovering the shady truth behind his exile. What makes Gachiakuta pop is its mix of gritty action, a dystopian world that hits you in the feels, and a dope graffiti-inspired art style. It's got themes of class struggles and the idea that even 'trash' has value—deep stuff for a shonen, right? Meet the Main Characters and Cast The Gachiakuta anime features a talented voice cast, bringing depth to its memorable characters: Rudo Surebrec (voiced by Aoi Ichikawa in Japanese, Zeno Robinson in English): The determined protagonist seeking revenge after being framed for murder. His Vital Instrument, a pair of gloves called 3R, allows him to animate three objects at a time, turning trash into weapons or tools. Regto (voiced by Toshiyuki Morikawa): Rudo's foster father, whose murder sets the story in motion. Jabber (voiced by Yūki Shin): A member of the Cleaners who helps Rudo survive in The Pit. Enjin : A Cleaner who wields a Vital Instrument called Umbreaker, an umbrella with unique abilities. Zanka and Riyo: Other key Cleaners featured in the main visual, known for their dynamic roles in the story. What to Expect from Season 1 No spoilers here, but season 1 will likely dig into Rudo's early days in The Pit, his bond with the Cleaners, and the mystery of who framed him. Expect some jaw-dropping fights with Trash Beasts and hints about the Sphere's dark secrets. With Bones running the show, the animation's gonna be crisp, and the story's got enough twists to keep you guessing. Ahmedabad Plane Crash Aman Shukla is a post-graduate in mass communication . Gachiakuta Living in the slums of a wealthy town, Gachiakuta centers on Rudo and his foster father Regto as they try to coexist with the rest of the town's residents. Ignoring the warnings from those around him, Rudo regularly rummages through the town's garbage in search of anything useful or valuable to save from the 'Abyss'—a massive hole where anything considered trash is dumped, including people. Rudo's biological father was actually thrown into the Abyss after he was accused of murder. One day, after running into a mysterious figure on the way home, Rudo returns to find Regto's dying body on the floor. He is immediately found at the scene by the authorities and is charged with murder. No one believes his claims of innocence, and he is thrown into the Abyss. Instead of dying, however, he finds himself in a strange, foul-smelling place surrounded by monsters made out of trash… If you've been following this anime, you may be curious to find out when the next episode is releasing.
