Fulham in advanced talks to sign Reiss Nelson from Arsenal

Fulham are in advanced talks with Arsenal over a move to re-sign winger Reiss Nelson. Discussions between the clubs centre on either a loan deal with an option to buy, which would include a significant fee, or a permanent transfer. If it was to be a loan, Arsenal would prefer an obligation to purchase at the conclusion. Advertisement An agreement between the teams is now close, but it is not guaranteed and work still needs to be done for the proposed switch to materialise. The Athletic reported on June 10 that Fulham were interested in another move for Nelson, after the 25-year-old spent last season at Craven Cottage. Nelson's last appearance for Arsenal came as a substitute against Aston Villa last August, before he completed his move to Fulham on deadline day. The attacker then featured in 13 consecutive games for Fulham before suffering a season-ending hamstring injury in December. His contract at Arsenal runs until the summer of 2027 and features an option to extend by 12 months after he signed fresh terms in July 2023. That came following a season in which he suffered with injuries and featured only 18 times across all competitions, scoring three goals. In 2023-24, Nelson made 23 appearances — starting just twice in the Premier League and Champions League — and scored once. Nelson previously spent the 2018-19 and 2021-22 campaigns on loan at Hoffenheim and Feyenoord respectively. He has made 90 appearances for Arsenal since making his debut in 2017 and was part of the side that won the FA Cup in 2019-20. The Englishman's potential Arsenal departure comes with Arsenal strengthening their forward line, having signed Noni Madueke from Chelsea and reached an agreement to sign Sporting CP's Viktor Gyokeres. Fulham have yet to make a signing this summer, while Willian and Carlos Vinicius have left on free transfers. ()

Adama Traoré targeted by Nottingham Forest

Adama Traoré targeted by Nottingham Forest Adama Traoré could be reunited with Nuno Espírito Santo. The powerful 29-year-old winger, currently at Fulham, has caught the eye of Nottingham Forest. The Portuguese manager knows Traoré's explosive style inside out, having previously coached him at Wolverhampton. Together, they shone on the European stage. Now, a new partnership seems possible. According to several English sources, Forest are expected to submit an official offer in the coming days. While the player's value is estimated at €9 million, Fulham are reportedly holding out for closer to €15 million. Last season, the Spaniard scored 2 goals and provided 7 assists in 36 appearances—solid stats that highlight his impact on the pitch, despite inconsistent playing time. If he leaves, Fulham could turn to Reiss Nelson, who has struggled for minutes at Arsenal and is reportedly keen to revive his career elsewhere.

Arsenal 'receive transfer approach from Fulham for forgotten man' as they close in on signing of Chelsea's Noni Madueke

Arsenal have reportedly received a transfer approach for one of their forgotten players. The Gunners are closing in on the signing of Chelsea winger Noni Madueke for £52million. Madueke's arrival at Emirates Stadium would push Reiss Nelson even further down the pecking order at the club. Nelson spent last season on loan at Fulham but his spell at Craven Cottage was disrupted by injury. However, as reported by BBC Sport, Fulham are eager to re-sign Nelson, with a loan move the most likely scenario. Nelson has two years remaining on his contract but his future appears to lie away from Arsenal. Last season Nelson made 12 appearances for Fulham and scored two goals. A hamstring problem which he suffered in December saw Nelson's season come to an early end but he has since returned to training with Arsenal. Nelson has scored eight goals in 90 senior games for Arsenal and previously had loan spells at Feyenoord and Hoffenheim. In 2023 Nelson scored a memorable late equaliser for Arsenal against Bournemouth and went on to sign a new contract that summer. A product of Arsenal's academy, he was very highly rated as a youth player and made his senior debut in 2017 when Arsene Wenger was still in charge. Nelson hasn't been able to establish himself as a regular in the starting lineup for Arsenal, with injuries and the continued progress of Bukayo Saka not helping his cause. It has been a very quiet transfer window so far for Fulham, who have yet to buy or sell any senior players this summer. Arsenal, meanwhile, have already secured the signing of Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Christian Norgaard. As well as Madueke, Arsenal are also looking to sign Sporting forward Viktor Gyokeres.

'It's genuinely worrying' - fans on summer business

We asked for your views on Fulham's lack of business so far in the window and their approach to re-sign Reiss are some of your comments:Chris A: The Khans typically leave their summer signings late in the window, but this time there isn't even a whiff of speculation, let alone action. It's genuinely worrying. We're supposed to be building a squad to push for Europe, at this rate we'll be battling to stay Fulham's fan base is very frustrated with the lack of transfers, a mirror image of what has happened in previous seasons. We are not mollified by the painfully slow re-signing of Cairney and Tete whose contracts had expired - welcome though that is. Fresh blood is needed if the club is to develop. Wake up management!Peter: Transfers? To little to late. I thought we would bring Palhinha and Harvey Elliott Ryan Sessignon shines like the old days. Marco Silva is working hard to get the team to gel. Iwobi was a revelation. Sadly after 50 years of supporting my only team it will be the same old Fulham. Give us something to cheer. A trophy but not Re-signing Nelson on a loan just shows the lack of ambition by our owners, we are more than happy finishing mid-table and show absolutely no hope of kicking on into Europe. Less than one month until the start of the season and yet again our business has been left too Talker: As far as first signings go this will be very underwhelming. Our first move for a player is a loan and towards the end of July is a joke. Nelson is a good player but injuries are a concern, and it doesn't really improve our squad whatsoever. We can and should be doing better, and stop taking players from We always take time to do our business, but we made no signings in January and it's clear we need to kick on. Marco indicated a couple of months ago the plans for the summer were in place and a month before the new season we have no new faces through the door.
