‘Football Brain' written all over Katleho Maphisa's head
BOPHELONG.- 'Football Brain' is written all over his head!
This is the best way to describe the young sensational midfielder maestro, Katleho Maphisa (12).
This Celta Vigo Development FC youngster's future looks bright if his performance is anything to go by. Maphisa was outstanding, leading by example as the team's captain when Celta Vigo FC U13 was crowned the Relebohile Mofokeng Foundation Tournament champions at James ground, in Sharpeville, on Sunday.
This young boy from Bophelong was named Player of the Tournament in the U13 category for his outstanding performance throughout the tournament. He was 'head and shoulders' above the rest, controlling the midfield like a seasoned midfielder, being all over the field, here, there, and everywhere, dictating terms for his teammates in the middle of the park.
This performance separated him from the rest of his teammates and opponents. Those who were tasked to choose the player of the tournament didn't think twice to pick him for this award.
He was too good to be ignored!
'The boy was exceptional since the tournament started. He was very consistent, performed in every game he played, and he deserved this award. Other players were also exceptional, but Katleho Maphisa was out of this world. The boy is very unique, and he is going far if he keeps on working hard,' said one of the tournament officials.
His coach, Themba Dlamini rated Maphisa highly, saying the boy is a hard worker and he loves football.
