Saif bin Zayed attends int'l symposium closing ceremony in Moscow

The symposium was attended by His Eminence Sheikh Rawi Gainuddin, Grand Mufti of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the Religious Administration of Muslims of Russia. His Highness Sheikh Saif also witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Mohamed bin Zayed University for Humanities and the Religious Administration of Muslims of Russia regarding the inauguration of the Islamic Cultural Centre in Moscow. The exhibition, jointly organised by the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre and the Religious Administration of Muslims of Russia, aims to strengthen cultural and religious relations between the two friendly countries and highlight the Centre's distinguished role as a global symbol of tolerance and peace. The exhibition includes professional photographs of the architectural and artistic creations of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, which reveal the depth of Islamic culture, in addition to a mobile library containing publications from the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre. The exhibition was attended by Dr. Yousef Al Obaidli, Director-General of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre, Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Ambassador to the Russian Federation, and a number of Emirati and Russian officials. On his part, Ain Eldin conveyed the greetings of 25 million Russian Muslims to the friendly UAE, stressing the happiness of Russian Muslims with the rapprochement and active partnership between the UAE and the Russian Federation. The Grand Mufti also praised the efforts of Abu Dhabi in preserving peace under the patronage of President Al Nahyan, including humanitarian issues related to the recent prisoner exchange. He also stressed that the BRICS, in which the Russian Federation and the United Arab Emirates play an active role, has become important today not only in terms of the national interests of the member states, but also in terms of preserving humanitarian values ​​aimed at protecting the interests of humanity in general, especially with regard to protecting spiritual and moral values. At the end of the meeting, the Grand Mufti presented the President of the UAE with an original copy of the handwritten Quran of Uthman, dating back to the second century, the original copy of which is in the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts in the Russian Federation.
