#SHOWBIZ: Veteran singer Datuk Hattan collapses mid-show
KUALA LUMPUR: Veteran singer Datuk Hattan recently fainted while performing at a corporate event, a direct consequence of food poisoning.
In a news report yesterday, the 61-year-old from Kuala Pilah, Negri Sembilan, revealed he had just eaten seafood from the buffet dinner.
"I believe it wasn't properly cooked. I started feeling dizzy when I began singing my hit song 'Rendang Tak Berbuah'," he said, adding that he asked the event organiser for a chair.
"As soon as I sat down, everything went black, and the next thing I knew, I was in an ambulance."
Hattan said the fainting spell taught him a crucial lesson: always avoid undercooked food.
"This is especially true for seafood. I've decided to steer clear of seafood for a while, as some might not be cooked thoroughly."
Despite the incident, Hattan returned to entertain fans at another event shortly after being discharged from the hospital.
"I had to honour my commitment to the organiser. My doctors would be furious if they found out," he said.
"However, I'll be taking a break next week and going on holiday with my family in Port Dickson."
