Bruce Springsteen Biopic Starring Jeremy Allen White Gets October Release Date

The Bruce Springsteen biopic is coming out this fall. On Friday, Disney Live Action and 20th Century Studios announced that Deliver Me From Nowhere, starring Jeremy Allen White as The Boss, will premiere in theaters on Oct. 24. The Scott Cooper-directed film will focus on the making of Nebraska, Springsteen's 1982 record. Alongside White, Jeremy Strong is set to star as Springsteen's manager Jon Landeau, Stephen Graham will play Springsteen's father, Odessa Young will play his love interest Faye, and Paul Walter Hauser will play guitar tech Mike Batlan. 'Beginning production on this film is an incredibly humbling and thrilling journey,' Cooper said in a statement last October. 'Bruce Springsteen's Nebraska has profoundly shaped my artistic vision. The album's raw, unvarnished portrayal of life's trials and resilience resonates deeply with me.' When discussing his portrayal of Landeau, Strong told Variety earlier this year, 'I don't think I've ever encountered a person's body of work or their legacy in a way that uplifted me more or filled me with a sense of life and hope and love more than Bruce Springsteen.' He added, 'Jeremy [Allen White]'s work is incredible. Bruce is on set a lot. We're all kind of working on it together. It's a real collaboration.' The new premiere date comes seven months after a first-look photo of Allen as Springsteen was shared with the public: the actor is seen wearing a leather jacket and a plaid flannel button-down. In conversation with Zach Bryan for Rolling Stone's Musicians on Musicians, Springsteen shared: 'I've seen the scripts, and I've talked to the director. They're just putting it all together, so I don't have an awful lot to say about it, but I'm excited about it happening … It's an interesting story, and the script is really good. I feel good about the whole project.' Bruce Springsteen's New Single Took Its Time Becoming A Top 10

Bruce Springsteen's new single 'Repo Man' hits No. 10 on the iTunes Top Songs chart, ahead of his ... More massive Tracks II: The Lost Albums release. ASBURY PARK, NEW JERSEY - SEPTEMBER 15: Bruce Springsteen performs during the 2024 Festival on September 15, 2024 in Asbury Park, New Jersey. (Photo by) Bruce Springsteen is quickly working toward the release of one of the biggest projects of his career. On June 27, he will drop Tracks II: The Lost Albums, a collection of seven full-lengths that the rocker never shared, but recorded years ago during different phases of his career. Since announcing the ambitious effort, Springsteen has delivered a number of tunes from the upcoming albums, and his latest single has become a quick bestseller in the United States. 'Repo Man' is the latest Springsteen cut to arrive from Tracks II. The song currently appears at No. 10 on the iTunes Top Songs chart, meaning it is the tenth bestselling track in the U.S., at least on that one platform. While not brand new, the cut rockets into the highest tier today (May 16), joining several other exciting recent releases from names like Volbeat, Barbra Streisand, Paul McCartney, and even Kesha within the uppermost region. Springsteen actually released 'Repo Man' on May 14. It has taken a few days for the track to become a strong seller in the U.S. Interestingly, it performs its best on Friday, which is the beginning of the tracking week and usually considered the busiest time for new releases. This is when Springsteen faces the most competition, and yet it seems his latest tune has finally taken off only now. 'Repo Man' is the fourth single from Tracks II released by Springsteen this spring. He has dropped one track from each from four different albums that will be part of the seven-full-length collection. He started with 'Rain in the River,' which will be featured on Perfect World. He followed that up with 'Blind Spot,' the first cut on The Streets of Philadelphia Sessions. Most recently on May 1, 'Faithless,' the title track from the album of the same name, arrived.

Hear Bruce Springsteen's Rockabilly ‘Repo Man' From ‘Tracks II' Box Set

Bruce Springsteen has shared another unreleased preview from his upcoming Tracks II: The Lost Albums box set, this time unveiling 'Repo Man,' a track from the country-inspired Somewhere North of Nashville that he recorded at the same time as 1995's The Ghost of Tom Joad. As opposed to the 'socially conscious' and largely acoustic The Ghost of Tom Joad, the rockabilly rocker 'Repo Man' finds Springsteen having some honky tonk fun in the studio alongside a band that features Danny Federici, Garry Tallent, Gary Mallaber and pedal steel player Marty Rifkin, all of whom also played on Tom Joad. Those sessions completely overlap each other. I'm singing 'Repo Man' in the afternoon and 'The Line' at night. So the country record got made right along with The Ghost of Tom Joad,' Springsteen said in a statement. ''Streets of Philadelphia' got me connected to my socially conscious or topical songwriting. So that's where The Ghost of Tom Joad came from. But at the same time I had this country streak that was also running through those sessions and I ended up making a country record on the side.' In addition to 'Repo Man,' Somewhere North of Nashville also boasts 'Stand On It' and 'Janey Don't You Lose Heart,' two tracks that dated back to the Born in the U.S.A. sessions, as well as the title track and 'Tiger Rose,' another known outtake from the Tom Joad era. Tracks II, due out June 27, begins with L.A. Garage Sessions '83, which Springsteen recorded in the interim between Nebraska and Born in the U.S.A. The box set also features Streets of Philadelphia Sessions (with 'Blind Spot') and Inyo, a collection of songs from the road while promoting The Ghost of Tim Joad between 1995 and 1997. Perfect World spotlights several songs he wrote with longtime collaborator Joe Grushecky, the songs on Faithless were recorded in 2005 and 2006 for a film that has yet to be made, and Twilight Hours was created at the same time as Western Stars in 2018 and is essentially a companion album; Springsteen previously shared 'Faithless' from that latter LP. 'The Lost Albums were full records, some of them even to the point of being mixed and not released,' Springsteen previously said in a statement. 'I've played this music to myself and often close friends for years now. I'm glad you'll get a chance to finally hear them. I hope you enjoy them.' ‘Freaky Tales' is a four-part love letter to '80s trash cinema

If you were alive and adolescent and wired on junk culture in the 1980s, 'Freaky Tales' will have you counting the pop references until you run out of fingers and toes. 'The Warriors' and 'Scanners,' 'Repo Man' and 'Liquid Sky,' martial arts action and grindhouse revenge schlock — it's all here, stitched together with static-y VHS splices, a doomy synth score and a lot of patently fraudulent blood.
