Gulf Coast Jam officials optimistic amid weather delays

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WMBB) — Organizers of Gulf Coast Jam have been forced to delay opening festivities and cancel some performances Thursday due to inclement weather sweeping across the Florida Panhandle. In an early morning statement, event officials announced that gates, parking, and will call operations would remain closed until further notice after consulting with city officials and the National Weather Service. 'After meeting with City officials and the National Weather Service, we are at a standstill due to the concerns for our patrons, staff, and artists,' the statement read. 'Will call will NOT open until further notice, stay glued to our social media for updates. Parking and gates will also remain closed until further notice.' Festivalgoers, known as 'Jammers,' are urged to remain safe and check social media for updates as organizers monitor the storm system closely. Later in the morning, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Gulf Coast Jam officials issued a follow-up update expressing their hope to still open gates later in the day, but also confirmed the cancellation of Thursday night's scheduled performances by NEEDTOBREATHE, Restless Road, Angie K, and Jason Byrd. 'Our team is working hard to open Gulf Coast Jam and bring you some amazing music tonight,' the statement read. 'Another round of heavy storms are headed this way. Sadly we have to cancel NEEDTOBREATHE, Restless Road, Angie K, and Jason Byrd tonight.' Despite the weather setbacks, organizers said they remain hopeful that the event can resume later today. 'We will have more information after this afternoon's storm, but the plan as of 9:30 AM is to open gates in the early evening and to give you a great time. This is subject to changes in the weather and keeping our guests, crew, and artists safe,' the statement concluded. Organizers are expected to provide further updates throughout the day as the weather situation develops. Attendees are strongly encouraged to monitor Gulf Coast Jam's official social media channels and for the latest announcements. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
