Lancaster County bridge closed indefinitely after box truck crash

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– A Lancaster County bridge is closed until further notice after a box truck crash on Wednesday night. The West Lampeter Police Department said Neff's Mill covered bridge in the 1000 block of Penn Grant Road is closed until further notice after a crash. Police said the bridge sustained significant damage after a box-style truck crashed around 7:15 p.m. on May 27. Close Thanks for signing up! Watch for us in your inbox. Subscribe Now Police said the truck was towed from the scene, and the driver was uninjured. Lancaster County Facilities Management and engineers from Rettew, a Lancaster-based engineering firm, are inspecting the bridge. According to police, the driver most likely failed to obey signs in the area prohibiting trucks from driving on the bridge and didn't acknowledge height restrictions.
