Martin Lewis' MSE shares Clubcard trick to turn £5 worth of points into £30
If you've been saving up your Tesco Clubcard points, now is the time to cash in. Martin Lewis's Money Saving Expert has shared a simple trick that can boost your Clubcard balance, and it's a 'no-brainer'. Until the end of the month, Tesco is offering an extra 1,000 points (worth £10 when spent in Tesco) to anyone who swaps 500 Clubcard points (worth £5) for a Days Out Reward Partner code, which offer customers tickets to a range of UK attractions. Tesco Clubcard already allows members to double the value of their points when they exchange them for a Reward Partner code — and now, you'll get an extra 1,000 points, equivalent to £10, too. This means, for just 500 points you'll end up with the £10 Days Out code, plus the bonus 1,000 points. Even if you're not planning on going on your day out, it's still worth it, as you don't need to book or attend anything to get the bonus. The code can get you £10 of partner vouchers to redeem against tickets for places including Blackpool Pleasure Beach, The London Eye, Chessington World of Adventures and more. Then, if you're really savvy, you could use the 1,000 bonus and exchange for another Rewards Partner voucher — this time, from any of the supermarket's partners — which will then be doubled to the value of £20, as per Tesco's regular policy. The 1,000 bonus offer is only available until Tuesday July 29, and shoppers can expect to see the bonus hitting their Clubcard accounts by October 19. The Days Out Reward Partner codes are valid for six months, so you can use them later in the year, while the Tesco Clubcard vouchers are valid for two years. Tesco shoppers urged to act fast to avoid losing Clubcard vouchers 'in weeks'
Tesco Clubcard vouchers will be wiped out in a matter of weeks as the supermarket giant's deadline for using up the points looms - here's how shoppers can avoid losing out As summer beckons, Tesco has issued a crucial warning to its customers regarding its Clubcard scheme, cautioning that as the May 31 deadline approaches, action must be taken swiftly to redeem points and avoid losing out on savings. The high street chain is urging patrons to cash in their Clubcard credits prior to the cut-off date to sidestep a hefty purge of dormant vouchers from user accounts. Shopperss have been sent an email from Tesco warning of the looming expiry of vouchers. The note said: "Your Clubcard vouchers are expiring soon. "Don't forget to use them on your next shop. " Clubcard vouchers carry a validity of two years from the date they're dispensed and after the cut off they will be worthless. Vouchers allocated back in mid-2023 are on the cusp of becoming redundant. Voucher-hunters can hunt out credits via the Tesco Clubcard website or through the Tesco mobile application, with earnings amassed each time the Clubcard flashes at the checkout during in-store purchases. Every so often, Tesco tempts its shoppers with special deals to accumulate points in double-quick time. Tesco's cost-free loyalty programme goves shoppers with one point per £1 spent in their stores or online. Tesco shoppers might not know they've got unspent vouchers from 2023 gathering dust. To keep hard-earned discounts, there's a nifty trick to extend their validity for another two years. Simply use 50p of a voucher before it runs out, and Tesco will top up the rest with a fresh two-year expiry. If a person has got £10 – spend 50p and the person can get a new voucher for £9.50. Log in to your Tesco Clubcard either online or on the app, check the 'Vouchers' bit under the Clubcard section, and you'll see if you've got any waiting. For those hitting the aisles, just flash your phone at the checkout to scan any vouchers, while internet buyers will find them already knocked off at the checkout. If you're shopping in-store, just scan them at the till from your phone. "To make your Clubcard vouchers go even further, chuck them into Tesco's Reward Partner scheme and watch them triple in worth." Money Saving Expert gives the tip: "You can double the value of your vouchers by spending them at Tesco's Reward Partners, such as Disney+, Legoland, and Pizza Express." For example, 500 points that would usually be worth £5 in-store could be doubled to £10 when swapped with a Tesco Reward Partner. However, partner codes are only valid for six months, so they should be used swiftly once claimed.
