War veterans remember fallen comrades [Pics]

VETERANS of the South African Defence Force (SADF), South African Police (SAP), and those who served in the Rhodesian Bush Wars, gathered for their annual Veterans Day on July 26 at the Mills Bomb Shellhole in Warner Beach. Also read: Act empowers police against transgressing scrapyards The grizzled veterans paid homage to fallen comrades lost in the line of duty between 1966 and 1989. They proudly paraded in their military regalia, adorned with medals, ribbons, patches and other insignia that each tells its own story. The honour and discipline of old shone through as veterans saluted those who paid the ultimate price during the time of The Bush Wars. Mills Bomb Shellhole Moth, Russell Andraos, said that it is unfortunate that they have become the 'Forgotten Soldiers from a forgotten war.' 'Youngsters of today often do not even know guys like us actually did go to war. This parade is to remember the guys we lost on the border, some in accidents, some in battle.
