Director's responsibility important in effective presentation of cinema: Mehta
West Mumbai, May 4 (UNI) Film director Richie Mehta said on Sunday that cinema is a very effective medium and by using it properly, a director can definitely convey his subject in an effective manner simultaneously in the country and abroad. Speaking at a masterclass on 'Behind the Frame: Mastering the Art of Cinema' organised at the Waves 2025 Audiovisual and Entertainment Summit held at the Jio World Centre in suburban Bandra, he said that plots and themes created from personal experience can be presented more powerfully, which is easily understood by the audience. The authenticity and truthfulness of the content expressed in a film based on drama or fictional plot are clearly noticeable to the viewers, keeping this in mind, one should be able to look at the surrounding events and situations with more sensitivity, he said. Pointing out a difference in the presentation of the subjects of cinema and web series as well as the audience, Mehta said that both media are effective and by using them properly, the director can definitely reach his subject to the society in an effective manner, he added.
