How to watch Alabama vs. Georgia today: Time, TV channel for Top 25 matchup After months of action, the time has now officially come for the Alabama Crimson Tide to put a conclusion on the regular season action inside of Sewell-Thomas Stadium. Taking place this weekend, Alabama will host their final regular season opponent of 2025 in the Georgia Bulldogs, who come to town for a three-game series as one of the SEC's top teams. Ranked as a Top 10 team nationally according to the latest USA TODAY Sports College Baseball Coaches Poll, the Bulldogs will present not only a challenge for Alabama this weekend, but also an opportunity as well. That is due to the fact that Alabama is likely playing for a chance to host a regional in the coming weeks, and a series win against Georgia would be a massive boost to the Crimson Tide's resume. Alabama baseball tumbles in new Top 25 rankings after latest SEC series loss
Alabama baseball tumbles in new Top 25 rankings after latest SEC series loss Two weeks after Alabama baseball rose to No. 8 in the nation in all the major Top 25 polls and rankings, the Crimson Tide are skidding a bit in the hyper competitive SEC. After suffering back-to-back series losses -- first to Auburn and then to unranked Mississippi State over the weekend -- Alabama (29-8 overall, 8-7 SEC) tumbled in Monday's new Top 25 polls and rankings. Rob Vaughn's team went 2-2 last week and fell seven spots to No. 21 in Baseball America's new Top 25 rankings. The Crimson Tide also fell seven spots to No. 20 in Perfect Game's Top 25. Baseball America said of Alabama: "Alabama's bats were held in check for the vast majority of the weekend, but the biggest positive was fireballer Riley Quick's start in which he collected seven strikeouts and allowed just one run in 5.1 innings." Both the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll and D1 Baseball kept Alabama in the top 15 at No. 15. The Tide fell five spots in the Coaches Poll and are ranked one spot below UC Irvine (25-8) and one spot ahead of the Oklahoma Sooners (25-10). SEC team vaults to No. 1 in new Week 10 college baseball Top 25 polls For the second straight week, there's a new team in the top spot across the Top 25 rankings. The Texas Longhorns (29-5 overall, 13-2 SEC) climbed to No. 1 after taking two of three from Kentucky in Lexington. The Horns jumped the Arkansas Razorbacks (32-5), who dropped two of three to the Georgia Bulldogs (32-6) over the weekend in Athens. UGA is ranked No. 3 by Baseball America and Perfect Game. Arkansas fell to No. 2 in the Coaches Poll and D1 Baseball rankings, and to No. 4 in Perfect Game and Baseball America. Alabama baseball schedule 2025 The Crimson Tide welcome UAB (19-17) to Sewell-Thomas Stadium in midweek play Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT. The game can be streamed via SEC Network+. Alabama returns to SEC play Thursday when they travel to Baton Rouge to face the No. 7 LSU Tigers (31-6, 10-5) at 7 p.m. Thursday's series opener will be televised on ESPNU, while Saturday's finale can be seen on SEC Network. LSU was swept by Auburn (26-10) over the weekend at Plainsman Park. How to watch Alabama vs. Mississippi State this weekend: Time, TV channel for SEC baseball Coming off a series loss last weekend at Auburn, the Alabama Crimson Tide will now look to get back in the SEC win column starting Friday night at home when the Mississippi State Bulldogs come to town. An opponent the Crimson Tide have struggled against in recent years, Mississippi State comes to Tuscaloosa with a 20-13 overall record for the season, while also 3-9 in SEC play. Led by head coach Chris Lemonis, the Bulldogs are however unranked according to the latest USA TODAY Sports College Baseball Coaches Poll, while Alabama sits as the nation's No. 10 team at 28-6 for the year, as well as 7-5 in the SEC. When comparing the two teams this season, it feels like Alabama is the better team altogether, and I'll say the Crimson Tide avenge their disappointing road series loss at Auburn from last weekend with an impressive showing here. Alabama pitcher apologizes to Ohio State after offensive social media post
The rivalry between the SEC and Big Ten is real. Maybe more specifically between the SEC and Ohio State. It's not hard to find hatred for the Buckeyes from those who live south of the Mason-Dixon line. A quick search on your favorite social media feed will yield plenty of results. But this next story is on a whole different level. Ohio State baseball was in Jacksonville, Florida, to take on Alabama as part of the Jax College Baseball Classic. The Buckeyes would jump out to a 10-0 lead in the first few innings but ultimately could not hold on as the Crimson Tide clawed their way back for a 12-10 win over OSU. It was the largest deficit Alabama had ever overcome in program history to secure a victory. One might think making history and wrapping up the Classic with a win would be enough for the Tide to celebrate. But apparently, the team wanted to rub a little salt in the Buckeye wound. After the game, 'Bama pitcher Riley Quick took to Snapchat and posted a picture of him and his teammates giving the one-finger salute along with an explicit caption aimed at Ohio State. We won't show you the picture, but a quick search online will bring it front and center to your device. Shortly after, Quick posted on his personal X account (formerly Twitter) with an apology to OSU. It is uncertain if the Tide pitcher was called out by coaches or if he had a true change of heart. Ironically, Quick did not even take the mound against the Buckeyes, so we're not sure where the ill will was coming from. Apology or not, once it's out there, it can't be undone. The internet lives forever. — rileyquick (@rileyquick12) February 23, 2025 The Ohio State baseball team is off to a rough start early on in the season. The Buckeyes were swept by Arizona State in the season-opening series in Phoenix and won only one game in the Jax Classic against NC State leaving the Scarlet and Gray at just 1-5 on the young season.
