More Clemson football starters named to 2025 preseason award watch lists

Clemson football offensive lineman Ryan Linthicum was named to the 2025 Rimington Trophy Watch List on Friday. Linthicum appeared on the watch list along with eight other ACC starters. A total of 38 players made the list, including Miami's James Brockermeyer, Florida State's Luke Petitbon, Louisville's Pete Nygra, SMU's Addison Nichols, North Carolina's Austin Blaske, as well as Brady Wilson of Virginia, Lyndon Cooper of Pitt, and Matt Craycraft of Duke. The Remington Trophy is presented annually to the nation's top center. Ohio State's Seth McLaughlin took home the award in 2024. A graduate senior who earned his degree in December, Linthicum has played 1,085 offensive snaps over 23 career games at Clemson. He started all 14 games at center a year ago. A 6-foot-3, 305-pound product of Damascus, Maryland, Linthicum committed to Clemson in 2020 and joined the enrolled in January 2021. Rivals ranked him as the best center in the nation in the 2021 recruiting class, while ESPN ranked him the No. 4 center. Clemson receivers earn spot on preseason Biletnikoff Award watch list Clemson receivers Bryant Wesco Jr. and Antonio Williams were recently named to the preseason Biletnikoff Award Watch List. The Biletnikoff Award is presented annually to the nation's most outstanding pass-catcher. Williams, a 5-foot-11, 190-pound threat, is coming off a banner year in 2024 after hauling in 75 catches for 904 yards (12.1 AVG) and 11 touchdowns as Clemson's leading receiver. He had a season-high 13 catches for 149 yards and two touchdowns in the Tigers' 24-20 come-from-behind win at Pitt on Nov. 16. Williams also rushed seven times for 101 yards, including a 36-yard touchdown run in Clemson's 48-31 win over Virginia on Oct. 19. A junior from Dutch Fork High School in Irmo, South Carolina, Williams enters 2025 with 1,732 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns in 33 games (28 starts) over parts of three seasons at Clemson. Wesco, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound threat and a five-star recruit out of Midlothian High School in Texas, had 41 catches for 708 yards and five touchdowns as a true freshman in 2024. Wesco earned Freshman All-American honors last season and had a season-high eight catches for 143 yards and two touchdowns in the Tigers' 34-31 win over SMU in the ACC Championship Game. Colorado's Travis Hunter, who won the Heisman Trophy in 2024, also took home the Biletnikoff Award last season.
