Suspected DUI driver dies in 3-vehicle crash in Rio Linda, CHP says
RIO LINDA – A suspected DUI driver died in what appears to be a head-on crash in Rio Linda Saturday night, the California Highway Patrol said. Around 9:20 p.m., officers responded to Rio Linda Boulevard just north of E Street for a three-vehicle crash. The CHP said one driver, who is suspected of DUI, died. At least one other person was transported to the hospital, officers said. The road was closed but was expected to open shortly after 11:15 p.m. No other information was available at this time as the crash is under investigation.

Firefighters respond to multiple vehicles on fire including an RV in Rio Linda
( — The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Department responded to an RV and multiple vehicles that caught on fire on Wednesday night in Sacramento County. According to Metro Fire, the incident happened at around 8:30 p.m. on the 900 block of Straugh Road in Rio Linda. On the property, there was an RV plus two to three vehicles that were involved, which also caused an exposure threat to other vehicles in the area. Fentanyl dealer sentenced to 10 years in state prison, marking a historic conviction in Sacramento Authorities stated that the address is a residential lot that was sold in January. Rio Linda carjacking victim shot, passenger rescued after being taken
The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office said two people were arrested in connection to a shooting and carjacking on Saturday morning. Deputies responded to a shooting near Elkhorn and Marysville boulevards in Rio Linda. The sheriff's office said a man was shot in the face and assaulted with a baseball bat at the location, and one of the suspects stole the man's car while a woman was still inside the vehicle. Deputies found the vehicle when the suspect abandoned it to run away, the sheriff's office said. The woman was found safe, and both suspects were arrested. The victim is expected to survive.
