'They experience greater mental and physical health benefits from being in a relationship" and "struggle more with the emotional toll of a breakup," Ripa explained before telling Consuelos, also 54: "I know if you and I broke up, you would absolutely fall apart, completely.' "That's true,' he admitted, prompting a collective 'aww' from the audience. Consuelos then revealed how he would cope if he and Ripa ever did go their separate ways. Ripa laughed at her husband's speculation and teased, "Oh my God. Oh, dear God, I hope I live to see your second wife!" The pair first crossed paths while doing a screen test for All My Children in 1995, and have been together ever since. Kelly Ripa is baring it all with her tips for future empty nesters. The mom of three offered some advice about kids leaving home to "Your Friends & Neighbors" star Amanda Peet on the May 26 episode of "Live with Kelly and Mark" alongside husband and co-host Mark Consuelos. "Let me just say this," Ripa said. "The first one is like a bit of a shock. Each one, the second one, is like, no big deal. Third one, for 24 to 48 hours, you're going to be like, 'Oh my gosh, what have we done now? Now it's just us.' "And then your entire life becomes nudity in the household wherever you want. Total freak show all the time," the daytime star added as Consuelos smiled wide and the audience laughed. "Wow, good to know!" Peet said jokingly, telling the married "Live" co-hosts that she didn't "want to cry" about her eldest daughter moving "very far away" to the "opposite coast." Ripa and Consuelos, who have been married since 1996, share Michael, 27, Lola, 23, and Joaquin, 22. The couple's youngest son graduated from the University of Michigan earlier this month. Peet shares daughter Frances Benioff, 18, with her "Games of Thrones" creator husband David Benioff, and the pair have two younger children: Molly, 15, and Henry, 10. Peet said that she sends Frances Benioff advice over text but told Ripa and Consuelos that "I get one reply for every 10 texts I send her." Ripa related with the sentiment, saying that she "sent my kids when they graduated, all of these articles on like 'The best things people look for when hiring,'" and she said, "Nobody reads anything." Consuelos and Ripa said their kids have told them that "you were right" about "everything." Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos return to their soap roots in new Audible drama 'Summer Breeze'
Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are stepping back into the world that launched their careers, this time with a modern twist and a family connection. The couple, who rose to fame on "All My Children," are starring together in a new scripted podcast titled "Summer Breeze," now available on Audible. The 10-episode audio drama brings classic soap opera intrigue to the podcast format, blending high-stakes storytelling with a nostalgic nod to the 1990s daytime TV scene. It's also a family production: joining Ripa and Consuelos in the voice cast is their real-life son, Michael Consuelos, marking a rare on-mic collaboration between the three. According to the official synopsis, the show is set in the fictional world of a long-running soap opera. "Summer Breeze"- follows a struggling screenwriter (voiced by "The Good Fight's" Sarah Steele) who lands her big break when her script is picked up by a powerful producer, Gordon Ready (Consuelos). As she realizes the true nature of her new boss, she turns to a former soap star, Carolyn Harris (Ripa), for help. Together, the two women hatch a revenge plot through the soap opera itself, setting off a chain of events that blur the boundaries between fiction and reality. In addition to the Ripa-Consuelos family, the cast includes Zack Gilford ("Friday Night Lights"), Talia Balsam, Adriane Lenox, Grey Henson and Ally Sheedy.
