DCED officials promote NAP program during visit to Erie

The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development made several stops in Erie on Monday. One of those was at the Second Harvest Food Bank to talk about the Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP). NAP is a tax credit program meant to encourage businesses to invest in various causes throughout their community. Harborcreek students sign their commitments to US military The program includes the ability to partner with organizations to improve food security in pennsylvania. And the commonwealth is advocating for more businesses to get involved. 'Anybody with a state tax obligation can get tax credits for making contributions. Instead of just paying your tax bill and it going to Harrisburg, you can pick the projects that you want to make contributions to,' said Rick Vilello, deputy secretary of community affairs and development for the PA Dept. of Community and Economic Development. Upcoming Rides for the Rise Motor Music Festival aims to raise money for Erie youth 'Having a program like this that can really open us up to large partners, corporate support, is extremely important,' said Greg Hall, CEO of the Second Harvest Food Bank of NWPA. EMTA, EDP announce plans for 14th Fest 2025

(WJET/WFXP)– The Erie Downtown Partnership and the EMTA are bringing back one of the city's newer summer celebrations to kick off the season. The EDP and EMTA are bringing back 14th Fest as their way of kicking off the summer season in downtown Erie and all it has to offer. Upcoming Rides for the Rise Motor Music Festival aims to raise money for Erie youth The festival is once again free for all members of the community to attend, with festivities running from June 12-14 between French and Holland Streets from 5 to 10 p.m. each night. Festival goers can enjoy food and drinks from local establishments, plenty of kids' activities, and live music from Small Town Revolution at 5:30, followed by The Groove at 8 p.m. Local girl holds fundraiser for St. Jude in hopes of helping kids her age beat cancer 'EMTA is excited to continue 14th Fest for the fourth year in a row,' said EMTA CEO, Jeremy Peterson. 'It has become a tradition and we are honored to bring vibrancy to midcity with local vendors and entertainment as a way to kick off summertime in Erie. This marks the fourth year of 14th Fest.
