Miller Kaplan adds new partner to lead risk advisory practice

Miller Kaplan, a US-based public accounting firm, has announced the appointment of Steven Gin as a new partner in its Los Angeles office. Gin has more than 20 years of experience in public accounting. He will spearhead the launch of the firm's Risk Advisory practice, expanding its service offerings to address client needs, the accounting firm said in a statement. Gin's career began in financial statement auditing before transitioning to IT auditing. Over the past decade, he has focused on risk advisory, assisting clients with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, internal audits, and the design and testing of business processes and IT controls. Gin said: 'I'm thrilled to join the firm at such a pivotal time and to help bring new solutions that not only strengthen our service offerings but also create meaningful value for our clients. 'This is an exciting opportunity to build something impactful together.' The new Risk Advisory practice under his leadership will provide services such as SOX compliance, internal audit, board governance, enterprise risk management, and staff augmentation. Miller Kaplan managing partner Michael Kaplan said: 'Steven's arrival marks an exciting new chapter for Miller Kaplan. 'His experience and leadership will be invaluable as we continue to expand our capabilities and help our clients manage risk in increasingly complex business environments.' Founded in 1941, Miller Kaplan offers audit, accounting, tax, business management, information security, licensing and royalties, industry metrics, and consulting services to individuals, businesses, fiduciaries, and tax-exempt organisations.
