Man (20s) drowns in Killarney river
A man in his 20s has drowned in the River Flesk in Killarney, Co Kerry. The accident at the rear of houses and a soccer pitch in the Woodlawn area of the town occurred around 3.30pm on Tuesday. The man is from the east Killarney area and the alarm was raised by a friend. Paramedics, the fire service and a doctor attended the scene. A postmortem is due to take place. Young man (20s) dies after getting into difficulty swimming in Co Kerry
A man in his 20s has died after getting into difficulty while swimming in Co Kerry. It happened in the River Flesk in Killarney on Tuesday at about 3.30pm. Advertisement The man was removed from the water and later pronounced dead at the scene. A postmortem is due to take place, and a file will be prepared for the coroner. It is understood gardaí are treating the incident as an accident.
