Mobile gaming is proving its competitive edge at the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, running from July 7 to August 24. Despite common perceptions that mobile games are less serious than those on consoles or PCs, the tournament is showcasing just how intense and skillful mobile esports can be. Players are demonstrating remarkable control, speed, and strategy—using only touchscreen devices. Far from casual gaming, these athletes are pushing the boundaries of what's possible on mobile platforms. One of the standout events is the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Women's Invitational (MWI), which began Tuesday. The competition features 16 top-tier teams from 13 regions worldwide, battling for a share of a $500,000 prize pool—plus a $50,000 award for the tournament's best player. Beyond competition, the MWI is helping elevate women's participation in esports. As interest continues to grow among women's clubs and international teams, this tournament marks a significant step forward in promoting gender diversity in the gaming industry. Saudi Arabia Wraps up Participation in London Book Fair
Saudi Arabia has wrapped up its extraordinary participation in the London Book Fair 2025 after introducing visitors to Saudi culture and heritage, according to Arab News. Held in London, from March 11 to 13, the fair provided the Kingdom with an opportunity to strengthen its international presence and solidify its position as a prestigious global cultural destination. Through a comprehensive cultural experience, Saudi pavilions offered several glimpses into the Kingdom's culture, arts, and heritage under the leadership of the Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission. The fair also highlighted the participation of various other cultural entities such as the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language, the King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives, the King Abdulaziz Public Library, the King Fahad National Library, as well as the Publishing Association. Bassam Al-Bassam, General Manager of Publishing at the Saudi Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission, noted that the Kingdom's participation in the fair fulfilled its strategic goals of boosting international cultural exchange, reviewing Saudi literary movements, as well as supporting Saudi authors in reaching a global audience. The 8th International Symposium on Live Endoscopy, hosted by the Riyadh Second Health Cluster from February 13-15, brought together 50 international and local experts to explore the latest advancements in live endoscopy. The event featured interactive discussions, live medical case demonstrations, and specialized workshops showcasing cutting-edge technologies. Dr. Abed Al-Lehibi, chair of the organizing committee and chief of gastroenterology and endoscopy at King Fahad Medical City, emphasized that the symposium included the real-time transmission of 60 medical cases. These livestreamed cases allowed specialists to discuss procedures as they were performed, facilitating immediate knowledge exchange and the adoption of innovative medical techniques. The program covered key areas such as pancreatic endoscopy, ultrasound endoscopy, and advanced polyp removal, reinforcing the highest standards of medical practice. The Riyadh Second Health Cluster enabled live broadcasts from King Fahad Medical City's operating rooms, allowing specialists to engage with the latest diagnostic and treatment methods in real time.
