M74 resurfacing works to cause diversions and delays

The work is being carried out by Amey on behalf of Transport Scotland on the northbound carriageway before Junction 8 at Larkhall. The resurfacing will take place from Friday, August 22, until Friday, September 5. Overnight closures between Junctions 10 and 8 will occur from Friday, August 22, to Sunday, August 24, and again from Sunday, August 31, to Thursday, September 4, between 8pm and 6am each night. During these closures, traffic will be diverted off the motorway at Junction 10, following the B7078 through Kirkmuirhill to rejoin the M74 at Junction 8, adding approximately five minutes to journey times. All traffic management is scheduled to be removed by 6am on Friday, September 5. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained throughout the works. All the scheduled work is weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if conditions are unsuitable. The road will be shut from Thursday, August 14, until Friday, August 15, from 10pm to 6am. Diversion routes, clearly marked with signs, will be in place. The route will then go east onto Dobbie's Loan, rejoining the M8 Eastbound at junction 16 (Craighall). Slip traffic will be redirected via North Street and St Georges Road to join the main diversion at St Georges X. Emergency service vehicles will still have access throughout the works. Drivers are advised to plan their journey, allowing extra time for travelling through the signed diversion. Glasgow City Council has issued a warning that any vehicles deviating from the published diversion route may get a penalty charge notice. All the maintenance works are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if the conditions are not favourable. Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is carrying out masonry repairs on the M8 eastbound and westbound at Junction 15 (Springburn). The work, which includes the eastbound on and off-slips, will go on from Monday, August 11, until Monday, September 8, between 10pm and 6am each night. From August 11 to 16, and then from August 18 to 23, the M8 eastbound Junction 15 on-slip will be closed overnight. From August 25 to September 1, the M8 eastbound Junction 15 off-slip will be closed overnight. Overnight lane closures will also be in place on the M8 eastbound carriageway. From September 1 to 8, the M8 westbound Junction 15 on-slip will be closed overnight. Traffic will be diverted via Castle Street, Alexandra Parade, Viewpark Avenue, and Alexandra Park Street to join the M8 westbound at the Junction 14 on-slip. The M8 Junction 15 westbound off-slip to Glebe Street will also be closed overnight during this time, and traffic will be diverted via Castle Street and Glebe Street. Overnight lane closures will also be in place on the M8 westbound carriageway. Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works. All schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
