Driver stopped at 100mph on M48 by Gwent Police
Officers used specialist tactics to safely bring the vehicle to a halt and prevent risk to other road users.
They found one of the car's front tyres had less than 1.6mm of tread, below the legal limit and dangerously unsafe at motorway speeds.
The vehicle was seized on the spot.
The driver has been reported for:
Driving without due care and attention
Using a vehicle with a tyre below the legal tread depth
Roads Policing & Dog Section on the Facebook post said:
At the speed the vehicle was travelling, could have had disastrous consequences".
