Man dies when motorcycle leaves road in Oak Ridge
A 49-year-old man died Sunday, Aug. 10, after the motorcycle he was driving went off the state Highway 95 near Bear Creek Road in Oak Ridge.
Johnnie Hunt, of Tennessee, died in the incident, according to a preliminary report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol. The reports do not specify which city was the place of residence for people involved in crashes.
The incident on the Roane County end of Oak Ridge happened at 2:46 p.m. Hunt was driving a 2008 Kawasaki ZX1, traveling south on the highway when he and the motorcycle left the right side of the road and came to "an uncontrolled final rest off the right shoulder of the road."
He was wearing a helmet.
No other information was provided on the preliminary report.
Personnel from the Oak Ridge police and fire departments came to the scene and assisted, according to a city spokesperson.
