Free summer meals offered by local area schools

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – Lynchburg City Schools and the City of Roanoke will be participating in the USDA Summer Food Service Program for 2025 to give meals free of charge. Both Roanoke and Lynchburg school officials said meals are available to all children 'regardless of race, color, national origin, sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation), disability or age, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.' Roanoke City Schools Meals in the Roanoke Community will be served on a first-come come first first-served basis. Dates, times, and locations of meals can be found here. Lynchburg City Schools Children must be on-site while they consume their meals, according to school officials.
