Mythic Quest Cancelled at Apple TV+ After 4 Seasons — But the Series Finale Will Be Updated With a New Ending

It's game over for Apple TV+'s Mythic Quest: The Rob McElhenney-led comedy set in the world of video games has been cancelled after four seasons, TVLine has confirmed. (Our sister site Variety first reported the news.) The story isn't over for fans yet, though: The series finale 'will be updated with a special new ending, bringing the series to its final chapter,' and the updated finale will begin streaming next week, a source tells TVLine. But after four incredible seasons, Mythic Quest is coming to a close,' executive producers Megan Ganz, David Hornsby, and McElhenney said in a statement. 'We're so proud of the show and the world we got to build — and deeply grateful to every cast and crew member who poured their heart into it. To all our fans, thank you for playing with us. To our partners at Apple, thank you for believing in the vision from the very beginning. Because endings are hard, with Apple's blessing we made one final update to our last episode — so we could say goodbye, instead of just game over.' Mythic Quest starred McElhenney as Ian Grimm, the creative director of a video game studio who created a popular online role-playing game. Charlotte Nicdao co-starred as lead engineer Poppy Li, with Hornsby as executive producer David Brittlesbee and Danny Pudi as head of monetization Brad Bakshi. Debuting in February 2020, Mythic Quest returned for Season 4 in January, with the original season finale airing Mar. 29. It also spawned a spinoff, Side Quest, that released all four episodes last month. Will you miss playing along with ? What are you hoping to see in the new, revised ending?
