The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 3: Everything to know
After seeing the first season of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives—actually, after seeing the first episode of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, it was clear that Disney+ had struck reality TV gold. Not only were the Mormon, formerly Mormon, and Mormon-ish cast members famous on TikTok and involved in—or tangentially related to—a swinging scandal, but they somehow all also have drama within their friendship group and within their romantic and familial relationships. More went on in the first couple of episodes (An arrest! A pregnancy reveal! Someone's husband having a porn addiction! Fruity Pebbles being used during sex!?) than happens in an entire season of some reality shows. With season one a hit, the show was renewed for a second season. Season two premiered 15 May with all episodes hitting Disney+ at the same time. So, now the question is: Will Secret Lives return again? It has to, right? Great news! The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is coming back for a third season. Or, perhaps a season two, part two? Either way, more episodes are on the way. In October, about a month after the first season premiered, Hulu picked up the series for 20 more episodes, as reported by Deadline. "There was a philosophical question raised in season 1 which was 'Can #MomTok survive this?' The answer unequivocally is yes! Spring 2025 get your dirty sodas ready!" said Rob Mills, Disney's Executive Vice President of Unscripted and Alternative Entertainment. Now, season two has premiered with 10 episodes, which means that there are still 10 episodes left in the order, presumably for season three—unless they decide to call it season two, part B or something like that. To look at another Hulu reality show for reference: The Kardashians was originally ordered as 40 episodes. These were then split up into four seasons with two seasons airing per year. (That show has now gone on to have six seasons.) This is just an educated guess at this point, but there could be more Secret Lives coming out this year. Get your MomTok-themed charcuterie boards ready! (If you've seen season twi, you know what I mean.) The first season premiered in September 2024. Now, the second has come out only eight months later and we know that 10 more episodes have already been picked up. If Secret Lives follows a similar release model to the one The Kardashians has usually followed, the third season would premiere this fall. (There was a longer gap between the fifth and sixth seasons of The Kardashians, though, so... don't hold me to this.) Whether MomTok will survive this, obviously. Really, though, with it being an ensemble reality show about friendships and personal lives, it will continue to be about drama, drama, drama. And with the cast now being reality stars, sometimes that drama is a little fourth-wall breaking, too, like with Miranda trying to rejoin the group this season at what some members thought was a very convenient time. Who will stay in their marriage? Who will break up? How will the MomTok clique split into sub-cliques? What other friends might join the group? We'll be watching the next 10 episodes—and hopefully more?!—to find out. Seasons 1 and 2 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives are available on Disney+ now

Reality music TV survivors lift the lid on behind-the-scenes hell
Popular entertainer Rob Mills still feels 'really sad' for his younger self who momentarily contemplated taking his life after he was eliminated from the first season of Australian Idol. The singer and actor recalled suffering a panic attack when he was mobbed by fans and put in a headlock one night on the Gold Coast after his exit from the reality television juggernaut in 2003. To escape the hysterical crowd, he jumped into the car of a stranger who dropped him at his hotel. Back in the safety of his room and looking at the open door to the balcony, Mills 'had that split second moment of like, you could just end it. You don't have to worry about the panic or the crazy anymore.' He raced to the door and slammed it shut. Mills, an R U OK? ambassador, shares the harrowing experience in a new LISTNR podcast The Moment It Changed: Touchdown, that lifts the lid on the exploitation of contestants and the often harrowing aftermath of life after starring on the mega-rating dream factories of Australian Idol, The X Factor and The Voice. 'I still get emotional thinking about it. Yeah, I still get really sad for that kid. He was just so scared,' Mills says on the podcast. 'And now I go, what a life I've had. What experiences I've got to have because of just knowing that, 'Oh, you don't have to do that.' 'It still gets me like, lucky for me, I know who I am. I have a very good sense of self. I've got great friends, great self-worth. 'But I think it's just when I think back to that kid, I go, 'Ah, that poor kid. He didn't know.' And no one was there to go, 'Hey mate, it's gonna be a bit shit for a bit.'' The three-part series features past winners Casey Donovan, Dami Im and Karise Eden and contestants Bella Ferraro and Katie Underwood as well as Idol judges Mark Holden and Ian 'Dicko' Dickson. Like Mills, Donovan was signed and then quickly dropped by Idol labels BMG and Sony even as inaugural winner Guy Sebastian was being presented with a $1 million cheque for the record-breaking sales of his debut album. After being spat out by the music industry machine in 2007, then 18-year-old Donovan found work as a receptionist of a medical centre. When the media discovered her day job, she was cast as the 'forgotten Idol.' Now she is one of Australia's most popular musical theatre stars. 'People would come in and ... 'Aren't you Casey Donovan? I voted for you. Why are you here?' And I'd get this pity look ... Like, I need to earn money to live,' she says. Eden reveals the devastating toll to her mental health after winning the first series of The Voice in 2012. The shy, vulnerable 19-year-old had endured a harrowing childhood as a homeless youth and state ward and struggled to deal with overnight fame, particularly when fans who related to her struggle often shared their own devastating stories. She 'spun into a downward spiral' and self-harmed during a post Voice tour when approached by relatives she had never met. Eden entered a mental health unit for treatment and the tour was cancelled. Dami Im puts the spotlight on the manipulations of her 'backstory' behind the scenes of The X Factor in 2013 and her struggle for creative control of her recording career at Sony before she finally left the label in 2020.

The Project star lands major TV gig after shakeup at the embattled current affairs show
Georgie Tunny is making moves in the TV world. The Project star has landed a new gig narrating the upcoming series of House Hunters Australia. The 34-year-old said she is utterly delighted to be part of the Aussie version of the US show. 'I have been such a fan of House Hunters for years, so when the opportunity came up for there to be an Australian series, I was just excited that I might be able to watch it' she tells Yahoo Lifestyle. 'And now being involved and narrating it, it's a pinch-me moment.' Georgie says that she and her fiance Rob Mills tune into the USA version together at home after growing up watching the series with her family. 'I would force Rob to watch it as well and now he's fall in love with it too,' she said. Georgie's new job comes after staffing changes at The Project after a few years of strife at the current affairs show. In January, Channel Ten confirmed a beloved member of The Project panel will not be returning to the program in 2025, as the network continues to make shock changes to the panel show. Ten confirmed that comedian Michael Hing, 39, would no longer be part of the show this year, after he joined the series in 2023 as a co-panelist. 'For the last two years, we have loved Michael Hing's quick wit and hosting hijinks as a regular on The Project,' the network said in a statement. 'We wish Michael every success for his nationwide stand-up tour and look forward to welcoming him back to the desk between gigs in 2025.' Hing also confirmed the news on social media, revealing he was focused on preparing for his stand-up comedy tour of Australia from February to July. His most recent appearance on the long-running series was in mid-November. The network also revealed that The Project panel would be reduced to three co-panelists on Fridays. 'In 2025, The Project is doing Fridays differently! From late February, join Rove McManus, Georgie Tunny and Susie Youssef at The Project desk every Friday night, as the working week wraps up and the weekend fun begins. 'Expect the same dose of wit, charm and newsy goodness, but with a little more space for those unexpected, spontaneous moments that only a Friday night can bring. It's the perfect end to the week.' The network did not reveal the reasons behind why it was reducing its panel, but it may be a cost-cutting measure that coincides with Rove McManus' pledge to make the Friday episodes less news-focused. McManus has been involved with The Project since it began in 2009, as he helped create the series through his production company Roving Enterprises, which continues to develop it. In October, the veteran presenter made a huge announcement about his future on the hit Channel Ten current affairs show in a rare sit-down interview. The comedian was asked about his upcoming projects during a candid chat with Jordy Lucas and Alexandria Funnell on their That's Showbiz, Baby podcast. Admitting he had many 'irons in the fire', the triple Gold Logie winner then teased that his role at The Project could become permanent. Rove has done numerous stints as a guest presenter on the show over the years and returned once again in 2023, but didn't expect it to become a more permanent gig. 'I kind of stumbled back into it. It wasn't my decision to come back, I was asked and I thought I was just filling in for a couple of months at the end of last year,' he began. 'And then it was like: 'do you want to keep going into this year?', and now we're talking about next year. Channel Ten also announced they will begin uploading entire episodes of The Project to YouTube in 2025. Producers revealed the major change with a post on The Project's social media, including a link to the show's dedicated YouTube channel. 'New for 2025: You can watch The Project in full on You Tube,' the network announcement said. A recent episode featuring segments on the Golden Globes and comedian Akmal Saleh was seen in full on the platform. The long-running current affairs program is known to cut a high profile on social media sharing excerpts and segments to platforms including X and Instagram. The panel show has also undergone an audience decline ever since changing up its format. The ratings woes coincide with growing criticism of The Project's left-wing bias and departures of several high-profile hosts, including Carrie Bickmore, Peter Helliar and Lisa Wilkinson.

The Kardashians stars reveal the fate of their Hulu projects after season six fan revolt
Kim Kardashian and her famous siblings are weighing in on their future with the streamer Hulu after wrapping up season six of their eponymous reality series earlier this month. Though Disney claimed the series had scored stellar ratings with the premiere of season five in 2024, fans have been vocally turned off by the reality show's 'dull' storylines in the latest season. But the reality icons are doubling down on their connection with Hulu, as Disney announced plans for a Kardashians spinoff on Tuesday. Executive VP Rob Mills, the head of Disney's unscripted unit, revealed that the famous family is developing a new series titled Calabasas Behind The Gates, according to Deadline. The show, whose title references the upscale LA County city were many of the Kardashian–Jenner clan members live, will also air on Hulu, which is owned by Disney Mills was joined by stars Khloé Kardashian and Scott Disick to reveal the news at Hulu's Get Real House event. According to the Disney executive, Calabasas Behind The Gates will focus on other high-profile denizens of the elite area, which is filled with pricey gated neighborhoods. He said the show asks, 'Who are all of these people in the extended lives of the Kardashians?' So far, it's unclear if producers have specific stars in mind for the show, or if they'll follow a more traditional reality series route and find unknowns with enough charisma — and drama — to sustain a show. The British production company Fulwell73, which produces The Kardashians, will also be taking the lead on the upcoming series. Family matriarch Kris Jenner and her four daughters — Kim, Kourtney, Khloé, Kylie and Kendall — are all executive producers on the series as well. Despite the fan revolt against season six of The Kardashians, the series will be back for at least a seventh season. Hulu previously renewed the show for a sixth and seventh in July 2024, just months after Disney bragged about the solid ratings for season five's premiere. However, streaming numbers are only made available when Disney chooses to release them, and the company notably didn't make the same kind of rapturous announcement this season that it did after the season five premiere. The show had a rough start to season six when fans wonder why it 'still exist[s]' and moaned that 'absolutely no one asked for this' Season six got off to a rough start after fans were unmoved by the show's trailer early this year. 'Why does this show still exist? It's the same tired drama, the same shallow storylines, and the same overblown sense of importance. The fact that this garbage is still getting airtime is a testament to how far reality TV has fallen,' one person wrote on X (formerly Twitter). Another wrote: 'Absolutely no one asked for this, or cares.' Others opined that the show had become 'dull,' though some X users were more optimistic about season six.
