Malaysia's breakout pop star Chloe Qisha is making waves across Europe
MALAYSIA: Malaysian-born pop star Chloe Qisha, might just be the next 'it' girl, according to Malay Mail. She's currently causing a stir on the global stage. It's been less than a year since she first burst onto the scene last July, but this London artist is already turning heads with her captivating music and the way she carries herself. She's been gracing magazine covers and just wrapped up her very first tour across Europe. Interestingly, despite all the buzz she's creating in London, Bandwagon reports that this 26-year-old artist actually started out in Kuala Lumpur. She spent her childhood in Malaysia before heading to the UK to finish her A-Levels. Self-taught pianist and guitarist Since she was sixteen, the self-taught pianist and guitarist, who aspires to become a therapist, has been sharing cover songs on her SoundCloud and YouTube accounts. It sounds like her path to stardom really took off during her third year of studies when a talent scout – an Artist and Repertoire agent from a record label – reached out after seeing her cover videos. Rolling Stone UK noted that it was a year-long process of back-to-back meetings. Chloe then met UK-based producer Rob Milton. This agent is known for working with some pretty big names in the UK music scene, including Holly Humberstone and even The 1975, the group that was banned in Malaysia. Chloe found that connecting with Milton was just what she needed, and the two of them collaborated extensively, co-writing and producing a number of Chloe's songs. It seems like her big break came after she steadily released three singles following her debut last July, culminating in a self-titled EP in November last year. Four-star review And it's not just fans who love her music! NME, a pretty well-known music magazine, gave her Chloe Qisha EP a fantastic four-star review, calling it pure pop with lyrics that are both soulful and clever. Adding to her growing success, her track I Lied, I'm Sorry really hit big time internationally not long after her EP was released. What's really interesting is that her rise might have been significantly helped by a pretty major event: Kelly Clarkson, the American Idol superstar, covered one of her tracks during her Kellyoke Cover on her show. Adding to all the excitement, Chloe recently took to Instagram to share how thrilled she was to be named one of Spotify's Artists to Watch for 2025, especially since her single I Lied, I'm Sorry has been included on one of the platform's official playlists. She even mentioned in her post that it's been a 'wild ride' with that track and her absolute favourite to perform live. Speaking of recognition, she's also been featured on the covers of some pretty major magazines, including Rolling Stone UK and NME , as well as in Elle and Augustman . And it's not just magazine covers – Chloe has been playing a bunch of shows, including her debut performance at the Bermondsey Social Club in London last October, which was a total sell-out, and two of her most recent shows back in March were also completely packed. Her second EP is scheduled for release on May 15. What's even more exciting is that Chloe has been dropping some new tracks – Modern Romance, Sex, Drugs & Existential Dread, and 21st Century Cool Girl – which seem to be building anticipation for her next EP. First European tour Chloe's music is going global! Starting Oct 5, she'll be taking her show on the road for her first European tour, with stops planned in Belgium, the UK, France, and the Netherlands. KUALA LUMPUR, May 14 — She might just be the next 'it' girl — meet the Malaysian-born pop star Chloe Qisha, who is currently making waves on the international scene. The London-based artiste has been gaining attention with her alluring sounds and demeanour, from appearing on the cover of magazines to going on her first European tour — and all of this happened less than a year after her debut back in July 2024. So, who exactly is Chloe Qisha? Chloe, 26, was born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, according to Bandwagon, and she moved to the UK to finish her A-Levels. The aspiring therapist, who taught herself to play the piano and guitar, had been posting cover songs on her SoundCloud and YouTube since she was 16 years old.
