Irish renewable energy company secures funding for wind farms across Ireland and UK
Galetech Operations, a Cavan-based provider of technical maintenance support to the renewable energy industry, has won three contracts to service wind farms in Ireland and the UK.
The company has signed an operation and maintenance (O&M) contract with Statkraft for its Milane Hill wind farm in Cork, and its Beenageeha wind farm in Kerry.
As part of the agreement, Galetech Operations' subsidiary Optinergy, also situated in Cavan, will provide a range of services such as 24/7 remote monitoring, rapid-response field service and data-driven performance optimisation to 15 turbines located in the two wind farms.
This will aim to generate a combined 10 megawatts (MW) of clean energy that can power almost 10,000 homes.
In the UK market, Galetech Operations' Northampton-based subsidiary Adamas Wind agreed an O&M contract with Eurowind Energy for its 8 turbines in Howpark wind farm on the Scottish border.
The contract will involve Adamas Wind providing 24/7 remote monitoring and call‑out support to the Howpark wind farm, as well as scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, blade inspection services, and spare-parts management.
The contract with Eurowind Energy to manage its Howpark wind farm is the first full-scope O&M agreement secured by Adamas Wind since it joined the Galetech Operations platform. Eurowind Energy says this will enable it to avail of all services provided by the Northampton-based subsidiary.
Clare Walters, the county manager for Eurowind Energy, said: 'We're pleased to partner with Adamas Wind as the full-scope O&M provider for Howpark Wind Farm.
'Their team's extensive experience in wind farm operations gives us confidence in the long-term performance and reliability of the site.'
As part of the contract, Adamas Wind will establish a new service base in Scotland, creating skilled jobs for people in the region.
'This collaboration not only supports our operational goals but also aligns with our commitment to investing in local expertise and creating value in the region. We look forward to building a strong and lasting relationship,' she said.
Rob Payne, commercial director of Galetech Group, said: 'These contract awards demonstrate the strength of our integrated O&M offering in Galetech Operations and the confidence which leading asset owners have in our team.
'Securing Statkraft's Irish sites and Eurowind Energy's Howpark Wind Farm is a significant step forward in that journey, and we look forward to building long‑term partnerships with both clients.'
