Hancock County releases renderings of new middle school

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Hancock County Schools has plans for a new middle school. According to Robby Asberry, Superintendent of Hancock County Schools, the Hancock County Board of Education officially reconvened its Local Planning Committee last week. They discussed its current 'bonding status' and a new Hancock County Middle School design concept. Weather radios down in 49 counties as Kentucky braces for more storms According to Asberry, this 'new, innovative' approach, combined with locating the facility on its current campus, has the potential to save over $9 million for the school district and community. These savings could finally make building a new Hancock County Middle School within the school system's grasp. Disaster Unemployment Assistance available for more counties Officials say the timeline for this construction is totally dependent upon interest rates, student enrollment and construction bids at the time of the bond sale. Reconvening the school system's Local Planning Committee was the first of many steps, but Asberry says he is very excited for its school system and community to officially begin this process. Asberry says, 'I believe this plan is a fantastic opportunity to provide Hancock County students with a state-of-the-art facility that they have long deserved!' 'Eyewitness News. Everywhere you are.'
