Andrew Mercer pleads guilty to manslaughter after partner's fall from trailer

A Dunedin man accused of killing his partner who was critically injured after falling from a moving trailer has pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
Andrew Jayden Mercer appeared at the High Court at Dunedin on Friday, when two other charges were withdrawn.
He also pleaded guilty to refusing a compulsory impairment test.
He was released on bail ahead of his sentencing in December.
Robert Douglas Ralston died in hospital more than two weeks after the fall on Brockville Road in late March.
The summary of facts said it followed a heated argument.
