National Roofing Alliance donates new roof to Ronald McDonald House

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Ronald McDonald House has been in Springfield since 1991, and up until Wednesday, it still had the original roof. 'We provide those essential services to remove the barriers, strengthen the families and promote healing for the families whose children need healthcare,' said Celine Hamilton Quill, COO of Ronald McDonald House. Why is this attraction billboard on I-91 in Springfield blank? While their work has remained unchanged, so has their roof, that's where two New England companies came together. The Melanson Company is from Keene, New Hampshire and they are part of the National Roofing Alliance for Progress, under the National Roofing Association. The association adopted all of the Ronald McDonald Houses in the United States. 'Contractors that are members, the manufacturers and the suppliers who are all members, all agreed to donate our time and their materials to take care of ronald mcdonald houses throughout the United States,' said President of the Melanson Company Robert Therrian. With the job in Springfield, Adam Quenneville Roofing and Siding partnered with Melanson to help. 'We have a division called AQ Cares. AQ Cares is how we give back to the community and how we show our gratitude for the community taking care of each other,' said Marketing Director at Adam Quenneville Roofing & Siding, Morgan Bennett. Through the roofing alliance, roofs are replaced at little to no cost, and with the supplies donated, this job will be free for the Ronald McDonald House. 'The dumpster was donated by U.S.A. Hauling, the GAF products' shingles were donated by Beacon, and it's just kind of been a collaborative team effort to get this project done,' Bennett said. The Ronald McDonald House in Springfield can house up to 20 families at a time as their children receive medical care. They are anticipating the job will be done before the end of the week.
