The Connecticut Sun are off to a dreadful 1-6 start to the 2025 WNBA season, and Sunday's blowout loss to the defending champion New York Liberty was by far their worst yet. It ended up being the second-largest margin of victory in WNBA history and a new franchise record for the Liberty.

New York led 90-36 before the start of the fourth quarter, closing out a dominant 100-52 win. The margin of victory wasn't the only notable stat. New York also tied their WNBA record with 19 3-pointers in the game, set on May 22, 2025, against the Chicago Sky. The Liberty also tied a league record with seven 3-pointers in the first quarter.
The Sun will try to put this loss behind them and add another win to the column on Friday against the Atlanta Dream.
However, on Monday, they announced that forward Robyn Parks has been released.
"Today, the Connecticut Sun announced that the team has waived Robyn Parks," the team wrote in a press release.

Parks didn't see any action against the Liberty but had appeared in the Sun's other six games this season. Over those outings, she totaled just two points, nine rebounds and two assists. The most minutes she played (20) came on May 20 against the Las Vegas Aces.

The 32-year-old is in only her second WNBA season, having played 37 games for the Chicago Sky in 2023.
The Sun also added in their press release that Parks will join the Greek Women's National Team at the 2025 FIBA Women's EuroBasket Championship in a few weeks.
Parks played three seasons of college basketball at VCU, appearing in 15 games. In her final season, she averaged 21.8 points and 9.0 rebounds per game.
