Clipse Set Summer Release Date for New Album, ‘Let God Sort Em Out'

Clipse's long-awaited fourth studio album, Let God Sort Em Out, is coming on July 11. The Virginia duo of brothers Malice and Pusha T announced the project on Instagram, ending the long wait for fans who've been awaiting a follow-up to their 2009 Til The Casket Drops album. Let God Sort Em Out is entirely produced by Pharrell Williams, who crafted the group's previous three albums. While Clipse signed to Def Jam for the album last year, it's now being distributed and marketed by Roc Nation. The album cover is designed by artist and designer KAWS, who also designed the art for Clipse's last project. LP, CD, and Digital Pre-Orders (as well as KAWS-designed merch) for the album are available at More from Rolling Stone The Joey Bada$$ vs. Everyone Beef Is Fun, But What's It Really About? Let God Sort Em Out has been speculated about since the duo announced the project last June, and gave Rolling Stone in-depth details about the project, which Pusha T has called a 'masterpiece.' While the group had been on pause since 2010, rumors of a new album had spread since Malice, who changed his name to No Malice in 2013 then changed it back for this album, rapped 'I might whisper in his ear, 'Bury all of them'/Light another tiki torch and carry it again' on 'I Pray For You.' The track is from Pusha T's 2022 It's Almost Dry album. Malice told Rolling Stone that after temporarily ending Clipse in 2010, he felt okay to reprise the group after his father told him he was being 'too hard on [himself]' just days before his death. Malice rapped about the moment on 'Birds Don't Sing,' a eulogy to his and Pusha's parents, which debuted at Paris Fashion Week 2024. (The brothers's mother passed in November of 2021.) Since last summer, speculation and anticipation have risen for the album, which Push has repeatedly said was waiting on a particular verse from an artist to be completed. Fan speculation has centered on Kendrick Lamar or Jay-Z being the mystery man. Chatter about the latter artist being the guest intensified when the Clipse uploaded a photo of themselves at the Roc Nation office earlier this week. Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez sued by daughter

Desiree Perez, CEO and cofounder of Roc Nation, is facing serious legal allegations from her daughter, Demoree Hadley, who has filed a lawsuit claiming Perez used unlawful methods to have her falsely detained under Florida's Baker Act and Marchman Act. The report, originally published by NBC6 South Florida, outlines accusations that Perez manipulated the system using her influence and resources. According to the lawsuit, Hadley alleges she was institutionalized in mental health facilities for two weeks without clear justification. She submitted medical documentation and body camera footage that allegedly shows a mobile crisis unit instructing her to enter a gray pickup truck. A doctor later evaluated Hadley, referencing family statements—including those from Perez and an aunt—that claimed she had attempted an overdose the previous night. Hadley's lawsuit further accuses Perez of leveraging her wealth and status to interfere in her marriage to Javon Hadley, alleging that Perez fabricated domestic violence claims to separate the couple. In response, Perez had previously filed her own lawsuit against Javon, alleging he had abused Hadley for years. Both Hadley and her husband deny these claims. Hilton Napoleon II, the attorney representing Hadley, stated, 'I haven't seen anything in my entire 20 years of practicing law that is so clear that someone did something wrong.' He also referenced an 11-page memorandum from the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office that reportedly criticized Perez's accusations as false and unsupported by evidence. Hadley was released from the last of her mental health detentions in April after Perez dismissed the case. The legal battle continues to unfold, highlighting a complex and deeply personal conflict within a high-profile family.

(Photo by) Louisiana rapper NBA YoungBoy is back in the headlines, this time after receiving a pardon from President Donald Trump. Here's what to know about the rapper, including what he was charged with and Trump's recent decision to pardon him. Trump has spent the week issuing a range of high-profile pardons, including those for a former New York congressman, a labor union leader and Todd and Julie Chrisley of the reality show Chrisley Knows Best, who were serving federal prison sentences for conspiracy, bank fraud, wire fraud and tax evasion. NBA YoungBoy marks another major hip-hop pardon by Trump. In 2021, during the final days of his first term, Trump pardoned or commuted the sentences of several figures in the music industry, including rappers Lil Wayne and Kodak Black; Desiree Perez, the CEO of Jay-Z's company Roc Nation; and Michael 'Harry-O' Harris, a founder of Death Row Records and a friend of Snoop Dogg who had been in prison for 30 years, according to The New York Times. Since 2015, NBA YoungBoy has released six studio albums, 26 mixtapes, and three compilation albums. Four of his albums have reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, while his song with Juice WRLD, "Bandit," became his first Hot 100 top 10 song in October 2019, according to Billboard. He's collaborated with a range of top rap acts, including Migos, Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Yachty, DaBaby, and more. Gaulden earned his first Grammy nomination in 2022 for Best Melodic Rap Performance for his feature on Tyler, the Creator's 'WUSYANAME.' People reported that Gaulden is the father of 10 children with eight different women, including Iyanna 'Yaya' Mayweather, the daughter of Floyd Mayweather. His kids have made cameos in several of his music videos, including 'death enclaimed,' 'Purge Me' and 'Kacey Talk.' The rapper will embark on his first-ever headlining tour starting in September. Police continue to investigate both of the scenes near the Trump International Beach Resort. (Photo by) In December 2024, a federal judge in Utah sentenced NBA YoungBoy to just under two years in prison on gun-related charges after he acknowledged possessing weapons while being a convicted felon. The rapper admitted that while filming a rap video in Baton Rouge, he was in possession of a Glock 21 .45-caliber pistol and a Masterpiece Arms MPA30T 9mm handgun. He also admitted to possessing a Sig Sauer 9mm semi-automatic pistol at his home in Huntsville, Utah, The Associated Press reported. Gaulden pleaded guilty to one count related to his 2020 gun possession arrest in Louisiana and a separate count tied to a more recent gun charge filed in Utah. He reached an agreement that resolved Utah state charges and settled two sets of federal charges. One carried a 23-month sentence, and the other ordered five years of probation and a $200,000 fine, per AP. In April 2024, Gaulden was apprehended for his involvement in a massive prescription drug fraud ring while under house arrest in Huntsville, Utah. Agents raided his multimillion-dollar home after receiving a complaint that he had posed as a doctor in an effort to obtain prescription painkillers. Seven months later, he pleaded guilty to 10 state charges, including two counts of third-degree felony identity fraud, two counts of third-degree felony forgery and six counts of misdemeanor unlawful pharmacy conduct. He was sentenced to time served and fined $25,000. According to ABC4, the rapper has also faced arrests and charges for attempted murder, drug and gun offenses, assault, and kidnapping. He was under house arrest for his alleged involvement in a 2019 Miami shooting outside Trump International Beach Resort. 'I want to thank President Trump for granting me a pardon and giving me the opportunity to keep building – as a man, as a father, and as an artist,' Gaulden wrote. 'This moment means a lot. It opens the door to a future I've worked hard for and I am fully prepared to step into this,' he continued. "And thank you to everyone who believed in me. I'm grateful. I'm Focused. I'm Ready." Two White House officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed the artist's pardon on Wednesday evening, according to ABC News. Drew Findling, a lawyer for Mr. Gaulden who briefly represented Trump in a criminal inquiry into election interference in Georgia, said in a statement: 'I am thrilled for Kentrell that his legal journey has come to a conclusion. From Louisiana to Utah the battles have been endless, and now he can concentrate on first and foremost his family, and then, of course, his amazing career.' Findling confirmed to Rolling Stone that he was not the one who submitted the pardon application. 'I did not do the pardon application, but can confirm he was pardoned,' he said. Gaulden was released from federal prison in March 2025 and returned to Utah, local news station KUTV reported. According to Findling, the pardon means the young rapper won't have to follow the terms of his probation, including drug testing.

Tory Lanez Attacker Reveals Motive Behind Jailhouse Stabbing

The inmate claiming responsibility for the jailhouse stabbing of Tory Lanez has come forward with a motive behind the shocking attack, which left the music star hospitalized after sustaining fourteen stab wounds. According to Santino Casio, who recently spoke to TMZ about the bloody incident, the motive behind the March prison stabbing stems from a rumor that Lanez had allegedly 'put a bounty on his head.' Casio, who was already serving a life sentence for an unrelated conviction, claims that after hearing about the bounty, he became increasingly paranoid. The two men, who were reportedly acquaintances and housed in neighboring cells, crossed paths soon after. Casio says that during the encounter, he noticed a bulge on Lanez's person and suspected the rapper was carrying a weapon. Fearing for his life, Casio launched into a violent assault, stabbing Lanez 14 times — including seven times in the back, four times in the torso, and three times in the head. Despite the ferocity of the attack, Casio insists he 'wasn't trying to kill Tory,' and claims that he, too, was stabbed during the altercation. He believes the injury supports his claim that Lanez may have been armed at the time. Lanez was rushed to a local hospital following the attack and has since returned to the facility, where he is expected to continue his recovery under tight supervision. In a statement, Tory Lanez's legal team condemned the assault and denied any legitimacy to Casio's claims. 'The recent attempt on his life was savage and ferocious, underscoring the clear and present danger he faces while incarcerated,' his attorneys said. 'Any claim to the contrary particularly from an individual serving a life sentence for heinous crimes is not only baseless but an absurd fabrication.' His lawyers also renewed calls for his immediate release, citing the escalating threats to his safety. 'His continued confinement is both a miscarriage of justice and a threat to his safety. He must be released immediately.' In the aftermath of the attack, several figures have called for Lanez's release due to questions surrounding his guilt in the 2020 shooting of rapper Megan Thee Stallion. The hitmaker was convicted of the crime in 2022 and sentenced to 10 years in prison the following year. This includes Florida congresswoman Anna Pauline Luna, who has urged California governor Gavin Newsom to review the case, which has garnered headlines due to claims of new evidence potentially exonerating Lanez. However, that alleged evidence — claims from a bodyguard that Megan Thee Stallion's former friend, Kelsey Harris, shot Megan, and that new Ring Cam footage shows the incident clearly — was already presented in court.
