Crash at Rock County intersection leaves two injured

FULTON, Wis. (WTVO) — Two people were injured after a crash at a controlled intersection in Rock County on Wednesday. According to the Rock County Sheriff's Office, around 5:43 p.m., a Volvo, driven by a 29-year-old Chicago man, was headed west on E. Maple Beach Drive and failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection with N. Hillside Drive. There, he collided with a Ford F150 driven by a 27-year-old man from Oshkosh. The driver of the Volvo was extricated from the vehicle with major but non-life-threatening injuries, police said. The driver of the F150 suffered minor injuries. LA PRAIRIE, Wis. (WTVO) — A two-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries in a three-vehicle collision in Rock County on Sunday afternoon, police said. According to the Rock County Sheriff's Office, around 2:13 p.m., the 2-year-old was a passenger in a GMC Terrain driven by a 25-year-old man from Milton, who was traveling east on US 14. As the GMC began to slow to make a left-hand turn onto S. Henke Road, a Cadillac XT5, driven by a 56-year-old man from Janesville, failed to slow and crashed into the back of the GMC, sending it to spin into the intersection and collide with a Jeep Gladiator that was traveling west. The 2-year-old was evacuated by helicopter to a local hospital. All the other occupants were taken to hospitals for treatment and released. The case is still under investigation, police said. BELOIT, Wis. (WFRV)- Officials are continuing to investigate a murder that occurred in the afternoon on Monday in southern Wisconsin after one man was arrested. According to the Rock County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred on Monday as authorities from the Beloit Police Department and Rock County Sheriff's Office were sent to the 1900 block of Wisconsin Avenue in Beloit around 3:47 p.m. for a person with an alleged gunshot wound. Six teens arrested after strong-armed robbery at a Wisconsin high school The person was pronounced dead on the scene, but an updated release a day later said that the incident was 'isolated' and that no threat was present to the community. On Friday, an updated release said that 31-year-old Dennis Banks Jr. of Beloit was arrested regarding the incident. Banks Jr. faces one count of intentional homicide of the first degree via dangerous weapon usage and one count of firearm possession as a felon. Sheboygan man arrested for mistreatment of animals, reportedly abused dog to death Banks is set for an initial court appearance at 3 p.m. on Friday. No additional details were provided.
