Hulk Hogan movies, shows, awards: WWE legend fought Sylvester Stallone in Hollywood's one of top grossers, TV show inspires wrestler's iconic name
Hulk Hogan, the
WWE legend
is no more. Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, became a 1980s and 90s icon not just in wrestling, but also in film. His roles were typically tough-guy or comedic characters. While he has done several Hollywood and TV shows, his menacing role in the third installment in the hugely popular and cult classic Rocky franchise will always remain special for the wrestling legend's fans. Hulk Hogan played the role of Thunderlips and featured against Sylvester Stallone's Rocky Balboa.
Hulk Hogan featured in numerous video games and wrestling merchandise. He was also part of action figures, comics, and even animated appearances (Hulk Hogan's Rock 'n' Wrestling, 1985–86). Hogan is known globally for his catchphrases: "Whatcha gonna do when Hulkamania runs wild on you?" It was Hogan whose flamboyance and star power helped transform professional wrestling from a low-budget regional attraction into a multibillion dollar industry.

Hogan was the face of pro wrestling for decades, with his blond hair and horseshoe mustache, colorful bandannas and massive biceps, which he referred to as "24-inch pythons." He adopted the name "Hulk" because of comparisons to the muscular comic book character on the CBS television program "The Incredible Hulk." In 1979, he made it to the World Wrestling Federation (now the WWE) and took on the alliterative last name Hogan.
