Brigitte Nielsen declines to discuss estranged son but insists she has been a good mother

Brigitte Nielsen refuses to discuss her relationship with her estranged son Killian but is adamant she has been a good mother to him. The 61-year-old actress' son Killian Marcus Nielsen - who she had with Mark Gastineau - recently opened up about how the star cut him out of her life about a year ago after he attended the birthday party of the daughter of Raoul Meyer - who is Brigitte's former husband. The pair did not end on good terms after their divorce in 2005 - after being married since 1993. When asked about her relationship with her estranged son, Brigitte told Vanity Fair Italy: 'That's something I'd rather not talk about. These things, in my view, should be dealt with at home, not in public." Despite not wishing to discuss her fractured relationship with her son, the mother-of-five went on to explain that she does believe she has been a good parent to Killian. When asked whether she thinks she has been a good mother, the 'Rocky IV' star answered: 'Absolutely, yes. Clearly I'm probably better at it now than I was in my 20s. But I managed to raise five children, take them to school, teach them right from wrong, all without ever stopping working or travelling. It was incredibly hard: I always took them with me, I never missed a single nappy. Did you know I named [my son] Douglas after McDonnell Douglas planes because when I was pregnant with him I was constantly flying on them!" Last month, Killian appeared on the Italian television show 'La Volta Buona' and explained how his relationship with his mother improved when he met his partner Laura Barbieri following his battle with alcohol issues. Speaking on the show, he said: 'Once I met Laura, I got closer to my mother ( Brigitte Nielsen ), to my adoptive father. We were doing well, there was a finally positive family situation. However, Killian went on to explain that his relationship with his mother has since fallen apart because of an Instagram Story of Killian at a party with Raoul Meyer and since then, he has been banned from her events. He added: 'A few weeks later, I called my mom because she had an event in Capri. I asked her if I could come too. She said, 'No, you can't come because you're a former alcoholic and we're promoting a gin.''

‘Rocky' star Dolph Lundgren swears by this secret for strong marriage with wife Emma Krokdal

Dolph Lundgren has discovered the 'secret sauce' to a good marriage. The 67-year-old, who played Russian boxer Ivan Drago in 'Rocky IV,' said 'I do' to Emma Krokdal, 29, in 2023. They became American citizens in 2024 and call California home. They've also partnered to launch the actor's all-American Hard Cut Vodka, which was inspired by a date they had in the early days of their relationship. Advertisement Lundgren told Fox News Digital he's made 'a new vow' in his marriage. 'I have this new thing, I have to give her a hug, a nice big hug, 10 times a day,' he beamed. 'I try to get a few before lunch, so I still have some in the bank [throughout the day]. It sounds simple and a little goofy, but doing that neutralizes a lot of disagreements and misunderstandings. And it makes us both feel good. That's my new recipe now. 'When you have disagreements, somebody wants to be right, but the other person also wants to be right,' he said. 'But you have to make your partner feel good, even when you both have disagreements. That phrase ['happy wife, happy life'] is true. You have to respect each other. You have to compliment each other.' Advertisement 3 Dolph Lundgren and Emma Krokdal got married in 2023. Emma Krokdal / Instagram Lundgren also avoids what he calls a 'recipe for disaster' in any marriage — being apart from your spouse for too long. 'I'm in a tough business,' he explained. 'And in show business, you travel a lot. And I'm a hardworking guy. I think what's helped us is that we work on things together. We work on the vodka together. My wife has also helped me produce and develop movies. So, we have a partnership, not just romantically, but also professionally. That way, we don't have to be apart a lot. And I value her opinions, her ideas.' The pair also share a mutual love of fitness. Advertisement Lundgren met Krokdal, a Norwegian personal trainer, at a Los Angeles Equinox. They began dating in 2019, and Lundgren popped the question in 2020. Krokdal was also by Lundgren's side as he privately battled cancer. I keep the heart rate up either by biking or just walking or climbing stairs. The third one is functionality, because, as you get older, you lose some of your mobility. And I found that floor Pilates, not with the machine, is really good for you. It's a combination of gymnastics and core work. I find it really helpful, especially as you get older. Advertisement 'I sometimes do martial arts for functionality, get some kicks in,' he noted. 'But a combination of those three is important to me.' These days, Lundgren and Krokdal are celebrating life and pursuing new goals together. 'Launching my brand has been a challenge,' he admitted. 'Some days I sit at a computer for eight hours. I was also involved with the fundraising for it, the product, the development, the sales activities — everything. I do feel very satisfied personally. Lungren previously told Fox News Digital that investing in America was important to him. 'I'm from Sweden, but I'm an immigrant and … all the good things in my life have come from America,' he explained. 'I switched from chemical engineering and martial arts to becoming an actor, a movie star in Hollywood. That couldn't have happened in any other country. Yes, it's important to me, and I think Americans will like the fact that it is an American vodka. It's sophisticated. It's tough but smooth, and it has an elegant image. Just because it's all-American doesn't mean it can't be sophisticated and elegant.' Advertisement The star noted he's always felt proud to build a life and career in America. And when it came time to become a citizen, he felt it was 'better late than never.' 'It was about time,' he reflected. 'I've been here for 40 years. 'I lived there, and my kids grew up in Spain, my two daughters. But I always wanted to come back. I moved back here about 15 years ago, and then I got my residency back. And then I decided I wanted to become a citizen.' Advertisement 'This country has been my life,' said Lundgren. 'Everything good in my life has come from America. I love Sweden, but, like I said, I'm very close to this country. And standing there, swearing the oath, [seeing] the flag, it was very emotional. And it's big. It's not easy to become a citizen. It's difficult to become an American citizen, and I think it should be. 'I'm proud that I made it.'

Drago hits the beach: ‘Rocky IV' star spotted in Miami after years-long health battle

After a years-long health battle, Dolph Lundgren was seen in Miami Beach on Tuesday looking plenty fit. The 'Expendables' star, 67, was snapped by paps while he swam in the surf and lounged on the sand in front of the Faena hotel with his wife, Norwegian personal trainer Emma Krokdal, 28. The following day, Lundgren was honored at a fundraiser at the Bath Club for his work with CHILDHELP, a nonprofit dedicated to preventing child abuse and neglect. Lundgren posted snippets from the fancy event as well as two pictures taken in Faena's famously ornate lobby. The caption says that 'the cause is very close to my heart and something I've experienced personally.' The six-foot-five-inch actor has been open about how his father used to beat him regularly when he was a child. 'He had a lot of issues,' the Stockholm native told journalist Graham Bensinger in a 2023 interview. 'It does a number on you as a kid.' Lundgren was able to turn a negative into a positive — learning martial arts to work out his anger and pivot to a Hollywood career. 'it gave me an ambition to succeed to prove to the world I wasn't a loser,' the father of two told Bensinger. 'He helped me in that respect.' Speaking of positive news, the 'Rocky IV' star who played Drago, yes, 40 years ago announced last November that after a multiyear health battle, he was 'cancer free.' Lundgren was first diagnosed in 2015, with doctors telling him he only had about three years to live after a tumor was found in his kidney. 'It's been a rough ride,' he said from a hospital bed at UCLA in an Instagram video. 'It really taught me to live in the moment and enjoy every moment of life. It's the only way to go.'

Action star Dolph Lundgren is launching his own vodka

Dolph Lundgren is well-known for his many action movie roles, including Ivan Drago in 'Rocky IV' and He-Man in 'Masters of the Universe.' He's taking on a new role, and this one isn't on the big screen, though. It's as founder of a premium vodka brand aptly called Hard Cut Vodka. This 90-proof, premium vodka was made with a base of Idaho-grown potatoes and spring water from the Rocky Mountains. It's touted as an 'ultra-smooth' and 'the ultimate all-American vodka.' It's already been awarded a Double Gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Unsurprisingly, the name comes from the film term 'hard cut,' which describes a shot that abruptly ends and quickly cuts to the next shot without any dissolve, fade, or other transition. This new vodka was crafted to be smooth enough to be imbibed neat, on the rocks, or in a Martini, Vodka Soda, or any other popular vodka-based cocktail. According to the brand, Hard Cut Vodka is velvety and creamy smooth and has notes of green apple, fennel, roasted potato, and butterscotch. 'From earning my master's in chemical engineering, to taking on Rocky on the big screen, I've always believed in pushing the limits, striving for the best in all I do,' Dolph Lundgren, Founder and Chairman of Hard Cut Vodka said. He adds, 'My wife, Emma, and I enjoy vodka on the rocks, and after trying dozens of brands, we decided we needed to create the perfect liquid for a vodka world gone soft. Enter Hard Cut Vodka.' Hard Cut Vodka will be available nationally on for the suggested retail price of $25.99 for a 700ml bottle. It will be available at BevMo in California beginning this month and will be rolled out to other key markets in the US throughout 2025.
