Border crossings plummet to historic lows; Trump's enforcement policies yield big results
U.S. Customs and Border Protection reported the lowest number of border crossings in recorded history in June. Nationwide, there were 25,228 CBP encounters, the lowest monthly number the agency has recorded, including a "historical low" of 8,024 apprehensions. Encounters include legal ports of entry, whereas apprehensions are arrests of those coming into the United States illegally. At the southern border alone, there were only 6,072 apprehensions in June, which is "15% lower than the previous March record." June also brought along the lowest number of apprehensions in a day on June 28 with just 136. "From shutting down illegal crossings to seizing fentanyl and enforcing billions in tariffs, CBP is delivering results on every front. Under this administration, we are protecting this country with relentless focus, and the numbers prove it." CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott said in a press release Wednesday. Like May, there were no parole releases, compared with 27,766 in 2024.. CLICK HERE FOR MORE IMMIGRATION COVERAGE On drug seizures, the department said there was a 3% uptick from last month in fentanyl seizures, with 742 pounds confiscated. Notably, there was a 102% increase in meth seizures from May, a 19% increase in heroin seizures and a 9% increase in cocaine seizures. According to the press release, CBP has also collected $108.9 billion in "all tariffs, taxes and fees," specifically noting the tariffs imposed by the president. Yuma Mayor Douglas Nicholls told Fox News Digital the change has been "peaceful" after a major strain on local resources, like the regional hospital, while crossings were soaring. Earlier Wednesday, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem announced there was an 830% increase in assaults on ICE agents from last year. This comes as both border and immigration policies have seen major shifts in recent months since the border crisis under the Biden administration. "This new data reflects the violence against our law enforcement in cities across the country in the last few weeks. Politicians across the country, regardless of political stripe, must condemn this," Noem posted to X. As for Border Patrol, a gunman was killed and a local police officer was injured in a shooting in McAllen, Texas. ICE also recently faced a riot at the Prarieland Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas, where 12 individuals are facing charges, including some for attempted murder of federal officers. CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP While the border is considered much quieter, protests and riots against federal immigration authorities amid mass deportation efforts have continued. Democrats in Congress recently introduced the VISIBLE Act to prevent agents from wearing face coverings in most instances and require visible identification. "When federal immigration agents show up and pull someone off the street in plainclothes with their face obscured and no visible identification, it only escalates tensions and spreads fear while shielding federal agents from basic accountability," Sen. Alex Padilla, D-Calif., said in a statement July 8.

Child predator among more than 300 arrested during ICE raid on Calif. cannabis farm
Federal authorities have confirmed that more than 300 illegal aliens were arrested Thursday during an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raid at a Ventura County, California cannabis farm. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem confirmed on X that 319 unlawful immigrants were apprehended during the raid at Glass House Farms, and said that 'law enforcement rescued 14 children from potential forced labor, exploitation, and trafficking.' The raid is believed to be the second-largest single-state ICE worksite operation in history, behind the first Trump administration's 2019 Mississippi chicken plant raids that netted almost 700 illegal alien arrests. One man taken into custody has a history of violent crime, including attempted child exploitation. CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott posted a photo of the unnamed migrant on X. 'This illegal alien was apprehended at the CA marijuana facility,' he said. 'Turns out he had been sentenced to 7 yrs for kidnapping & attempted rape, w/ a prior conviction for attempted child molestation. 5 'Turns out he had been sentenced to 7 yrs for kidnapping & attempted rape, w/ a prior conviction for attempted child molestation,' CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott said about the unnamed migrant on X. Appalling secret of illegal cannabis farmer who Democrats called a 'strawberry farmer' during dystopian ICE raid
More than 300 illegal aliens were detained in a dystopian ICE raid at a California cannabis farm - and one of them has been identified as a child predator. Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection Rodney Scott confirmed one of the illegal farmers was previously sentenced for child sex crimes and worked at the same farm as juveniles. 'This illegal alien was apprehended at the CA marijuana facility,' he said of the unnamed man. 'Turns out he had been sentenced to 7 yrs for kidnapping & attempted rape, w/ a prior conviction for attempted child molestation. 'And this felon was working at the same farm as 10 kids - one being 14 yrs old.' Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers carried out multiple raids Thursday across Ventura County, just north of Los Angeles, on cannabis farms leading to a violent response from locals and farmworkers at Glass House Farms. The raids sparked backlash from Democrats, including Governor Gavin Newsom and Democrat Congressman Jimmy Gomez, who suggested workers were 'picking strawberries' in the fields. 'Kids running from tear gas, crying on the phone because their mother was just taken from the fields,' Newsom posted on X alongside a clip of the smoky aftermath of the fracas. The raids sparked backlash from Democrats, including Governor Gavin Newsom and Democrat Congressman Jimmy Gomez, who suggested children were 'picking strawberries' in the fields 'Trump calls me "Nuwscum" - but he's the real scum,' the two-term governor added. Gomez also took to the platform to share his frustration with Trump 'targeting the immigrant farm workers who feed America.' 'How many MS-13 gang members are waking up at 3 a.m. to pick strawberries? O'yeah, zero!,' he wrote. 'Trump said he'd go after 'bad hombres," but he's targeting the immigrant farm workers who feed America. Either he lied - or he can't tell the difference.' Homeland Security then used Gomez's 'strawberry fields' claim against him, as the agency posted images of ICE agents taking a walk through the facility that was clearly lined with marijuana plants. 'Chat, what type of strawberries are these?,' the agency wrote as masked agents walked past the greenery. Marijuana is legal in the Golden State for people 21 years or older. Tear gas and guns were seen being used in dramatic video footage of the raids as armored federal agents stood on farm roads, flanked by rows of what appear to be cannabis, or marijuana plants, while masked agitators hurled slurs and debris at law enforcement. One man even opened fire on the federal agents. Just seconds after ICE agents fired smoke canisters into a crowd of demonstrators near Laguna Road, one individual could be clearly seen raising a firearm and appeared to discharge it in the agents' direction. Agents blocked off roads and stormed the facility in what witnesses described as a sudden and aggressive operation. Tear gas choked the air, smoke bombs were thrown and projectiles flew. Protesters, farmworkers, and family members scattered through the fields, many screaming, some hit, with others pouring milk over their faces to soothe burning eyes. At least three people were taken to the hospital while dozens more were detained. A worker, James Alanís died after he climbed a 30-foot greenhouse during the raid before falling from it. Alanís suffered a broken neck and skull, a family member told ABC 7. He was taken to the hospital and was on life support on Friday. He died on Saturday. Alanís was working at the cannabis farm in Ventura County to send money home to his wife and daughter in Mexico. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem confirmed that 319 illegal migrants were arrested during the raid. Noem, also known as 'ICE Barbie', said 14 children were also rescued 'from potential forced labor, exploitation, and trafficking.' The children, who Scott posted an image of, are from Mexico and Honduras, Fox News reported. Authorities are currently looking into the criminal histories of detained illegal aliens and Glass House Farms is under investigation for possible child labor law violations, per the outlet. An angry Trump called out the protestors on his Truth Social platform, and went on to authorize ICE officers to take all necessary precautions to protect themselves in the future. 'I am on my way back from Texas, and watched in disbelief as THUGS were violently throwing rocks and bricks at ICE Officers while they were moving down a roadway in their car and/or official vehicle,' he said after visiting the ravaged Lone Star State with First Lady Melania following the disastrous floods. 'Tremendous damage was done to these brand new vehicles. I know for a fact that these Officers are having a hard time with allowing this to happen in that it shows such total disrespect for LAW AND ORDER. He continued: 'I am giving Total Authorization for ICE to protect itself, just like they protect the Public. I never want to see a car carrying a Law Enforcement Officer attacked again! 'AUTHORIZATION IMMEDIATELY GRANTED FOR ARREST AND INCARCERATION. Thank you for your attention to this matter!' The raid is believed to be the second-largest single-state ICE operation in history, following the 2019 Mississippi chicken plant raids that nabbed nearly 700 illegal migrants during Trump's first term.

1 dead, 200 arrested in US farm raid as judge orders halt to aggressive measures
A California farm worker died on Friday after US immigration agents raided a cannabis nursery farm and arrested hundreds of workers as a federal judge ordered a temporary pause on the aggressive measures being followed to identify undocumented immigrants. The operation was launched by the federal agents on Thursday in rural Southern California where the administration faced dozens of migrants rights activists creating hindrance in the immigration agents' job. The raids in Southern California are being seen as the latest escalation in US President Donald Trump's campaign for mass deportation of immigrants residing illegally in the United States. Temporary halting the aggressive tactics being followed by the Trump administration against immigrants, a California judge on Friday blocked the federal government from racially profiling the migrants as it seeks denying immigrants' right to access to lawyers during their detention. The Trump administration has shown a conflicting stance over whether immigration agents will target the farm labour workforce, about half of which is not authorized to work in the United States, as per the government estimates, Reuters reported. Here's some breaking news: 10 juveniles were found at this marijuana facility – all illegal aliens, 8 of them unaccompanied. It's now under investigation for child labor violations. This is Newsom's California. — CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott (@CBPCommissioner) July 11, 2025 Two locations were targeted during the cannabis operation Glass House Farms and about 200 people who were residing in America illegally were arrested in the raid, the Department of Homeland Security said. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Rodney Scott, in a post on X, stated that the facility where agents conducted raids is also under child labour violations as agents found about 10 minor migrants at the farm. As per the photos and videos available from the scene, the raid conducted by the federal agents in Southern California was chaotic with agents wearing helmets and face masks, while using smoke gas and canisters on angry protesters. A Reuters report stated that the worker who died was identified as Jaime Alanis on a verified GoFundMe page created by his family.

Feds search for man who appeared to fire gun at officers during California immigration raid
The FBI is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a man who they believe fired a gun at federal officers in Ventura County on Thursday. 'During a lawful search today, a man appeared to fire a gun at law enforcement at 2:26pm on Laguna Rd. between Wood & Las Posas,' FBI Los Angeles posted on X Thursday night, along with an image of the suspect. Sky5 was overhead as several hundred protesters gathered at Glass House Farms in Camarillo, where agents were conducting a sweep and detaining workers. The incident escalated around 12:35 p.m. when officers deployed tear gas and less-than-lethal rounds into crowds of protestors who had blocked roadways on both north and southbound Laguna Road. Ventura County Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and set up a triage system for people injured by tear gas at a safe distance from the ongoing operation. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Rodney Scott said that among those detained were 10 undocumented minors. United States Attorney Bill Essayli shared details about the suspected shooter and the reward in a separate post. 'FBI has issued a $50,000 award for information leading to the conviction of an Unknown Subject who appeared to fire a pistol at Federal Law Enforcement Officers near Camarillo,' Essayli said in the post. Essayli shared a video in the post showing the suspect firing what looks like a handgun at federal agents. There were no reports of anyone wounded by gunfire. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
