Commuters thrilled after Hoboken PATH station reopens
HOBOKEN, N.J. (PIX11) — It's been a rough 25 days for Hoboken commuters.
After a nearly month-long closure for a major makeover, the Hoboken PATH station reopened on Tuesday.

'I'm excited about this. This is good for Hoboken. This is good for the people,' said one PATH rider.
During the 25-day closure, nearly 20,000 daily commuters were shuttled to other PATH stops or forced onto the bus or ferry. People told us for the most part it was a smooth transition, but they are glad to have the station they know and love back up and running.
'It looks nice. It smells like fresh paint,' said commuter Rodrigo Villa. 'I love that fresh smell. It feels like moving into a new apartment.'

With $31 million worth of improvements, including new tracks, train signals, safer walkways, and new turnstiles. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said the overhaul is a major component of the two-year PATH Forward program aimed at improving ride reliability.
