Fort Walton Beach man accused of battery arrested after barricading himself in home, according to police
OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — A Fort Walton Beach man barricaded himself in his home in an attempt to avoid arrest.

According to an Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office news release, 61-year-old Roger Ismond was wanted for questioning in the battery of a 78-year-old woman.
Ismond barricaded himself inside his home on Ed Street on Sunday, threatening to shoot deputies responding to the incident, the release said.
OCSO Patrol Units, Special Response Team, and Crisis Negotiations Unit responded to the scene and tried to convince Ismond to come out with no success, according to the release.
Several hours after the standoff began, the SRT was finally able to take Ismond into custody at about 11:15 p.m..

He is charged with resisting an officer without violence and domestic violence battery of a victim over the age of 65.
