Rapper Wiz Khalifa added to Alaska State Fair music lineup

Apr. 24—PALMER — Multiplatinum artist Wiz Khalifa will perform at the 2025 Alaska State Fair, fair officials announced Thursday. The Pittsburgh-raised rapper who reached mainstream success with the Grammy-nominated "Black and Yellow" is scheduled to perform Sunday, Aug. 24, at 6 p.m. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday Khalifa's breakout 2011 album "Rolling Papers" earned a Best New Artist honor at the 2011 BET Awards and Top New Artist at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards. He followed with "O.N.I.F.C." in 2012 and "Blacc Hollywood" in 2014, which debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 and included the anthem "We Dem Boyz." In 2015, the Golden Globe-nominated "See You Again" from the "Furious 7″ soundtrack became a global hit. Khalifa's latest album, "Kush + Orange Juice 2," was released this month.
