Not Even Rolls-Royce, Ferrari Can Take Maruti Omni's Place In MTB Nagaraj's Heart
MTB Nagaraj, owns a stunning car collection that ranges from a Maruti Omni to a Rolls-Royce Phantom.
In Indian politics, wealth and image often go hand in hand, and cars play a big part in that. While many politicians invest in luxury cars to showcase status, some are genuine car enthusiasts. One such figure is N. Nagaraj, popularly known as MTB Nagaraj.
With declared assets worth Rs 1,609 crore, he also owns a stunning and diverse collection of vehicles, ranging from a humble Maruti Omni to the ultra-luxurious Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII.
MTB Nagaraj's journey from a modest background to political and financial success is remarkable. He started with a small brick business named Manjunatha Table Bricks, which gave him the initials 'MTB." Over time, he expanded into multiple small businesses, built and rented out properties, and gradually rose through the political ranks. Today, he owns a long list of residential, commercial and agricultural properties along with a garage full of exotic cars.
A Peek Into His Stunning Garage
In 2024, a video shared after the Ayudh Puja gave a glimpse of Nagaraj's impressive garage. The clip showed several high-end vehicles driving out of his property, including a Rolls-Royce Phantom Series VIII, Ferrari F8 Tributo, Land Rover Defender 110, Range Rover LWB, BMW XM, and more.
Surprisingly, the lineup also included cars like the Toyota Fortuner, Innova Crysta, and the nostalgic Maruti Omni.
Despite owning luxurious and powerful cars, Nagaraj has retained simpler models too. The Maruti Omni, though basic and outdated by today's standards, remains part of his collection, possibly for sentimental reasons.
It is unusual to see such a vehicle parked next to a Ferrari or a Rolls-Royce, but it reflects his journey from humble beginnings.
A Look at His Expensive Cars
Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII
This is one of the most iconic cars in Nagaraj's collection. The Phantom VIII, finished in an elegant white with polished silver wheels, is priced at around Rs 9.5 crore (ex-showroom). It is powered by a 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12 engine that delivers 563 bhp and 900 Nm of torque, making it a popular pick among India's billionaires, including the Ambani family and Kalanithi Maran.
Ferrari F8 Tributo
Likely the fastest car in his garage, the Ferrari F8 Tributo comes in a striking Blu Corsa shade with a dark interior. It can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds thanks to its 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 engine producing 710 bhp and 770 Nm. This supercar is priced at around Rs 4.02 crore in India.
Range Rover Autobiography LWB
Another luxury SUV in his collection is the Range Rover Autobiography Long Wheelbase, finished in Lantau Bronze. While the exact engine variant is unknown, the model offers both petrol and diesel options. It starts at Rs 2.57 crore (ex-showroom) and provides unmatched comfort and space.
Land Rover Defender 110
Painted in Gondwana Stone Metallic, Nagaraj's Defender 110 features a five-door layout. The Defender has become a favourite among Indian celebrities and politicians for its rugged yet stylish appeal.
BMW XM
According to Cartoq, he added the BMW XM to his garage in 2023. With an ex-showroom price of Rs 2.60 crore, this powerful hybrid SUV comes with a 4.4-litre twin-turbo petrol engine paired with an electric motor. The setup produces 644 bhp and 800 Nm, and the SUV can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds.
Porsche Cayenne
Nagaraj also owns a white Porsche Cayenne with a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine, generating 340 bhp and 450 Nm of torque. It is a blend of luxury and sporty performance.
Fortuner and Innova Crysta
While these are more common vehicles, they still hold importance in his fleet. The Toyota Fortuner, often seen as a 'politician's car,' symbolises authority, while two Innova Crysta serve as reliable, comfortable options for travel.
More Than Just Luxury
MTB Nagaraj's car collection doesn't just reflect wealth; it is a timeline of his journey. From the early days of driving an Omni to now owning some of the most expensive cars available in India, his garage mirrors his rise from modest beginnings to becoming a multi-crore political figure.
