Blazes have burned through Rebel Creek Ranch in Humboldt County, Nevada, time and again, decimating property and wildlife, including his cows. Then, about 15 years ago, the fourth-generation rancher surveyed his thousands of acres of land and began to see his cattle not just as grass-hungry livestock, but also as the solution.
